TLDR: It took up to 4x as long to perform the same set of tasks on a touchscreen vs analog (2005 Volvo). According to the original European article the driver also looked further down when using many touch screens (portrait ones the worst).
Ok. Thanks. It’s all still dangerous. Just takes a second and something bad can happen.

I know if I'm comfortable, rotate counterclockwise or anticlockwise if you're British makes it colder or clockwise makes it warmer. If I go to work in the morning and it's a little chilly and the dial is set warmer, I can rotate it all the way to the left if I want it cold.
Well then I commend you for ever taking your eyes off the road.

Why a 13-inch screen? Are we driving a truck or watching TV?

I am not a truck guy, so my opinion is probably worth squat. I don't care about the grille, as long as it is functional enough to protect the radiator while letting in sufficient cooling air. I don't particularly like the "rake" of the truck, but maybe trucks are supposed to look like this.

Your photos do remind me of something. I have always had good luck with bras on my cars, so I am hoping that someone aftermarket will design a bra for my Maverick.

Overall, I wish Ford would spend less time with these unnecessary cosmetic changes, and spend more time addressing the god-awful list of complaints/malfunctions on the current Mavericks. "Deep Sleep???" Are you kidding me????!!!!!
Some vehicles now have over 50" screens. It's the trend.

Good answer. 😜😂
Maybe you're peaking and will become more rational later. .....the point was about no physical controls and whether or not they're better/ safer in general and specifically regarding the Maverick. Somehow you're bringing Tesla into it

Why wouldn’t Tesla be part of this conversation? It obvious. Not sure what reading an article has to do with being rational. Sounds like I may have, in some way, offended you. 🤔

I think Ford just throws these leaked images and information so they can get feedback from sites such as ours. Nothing better than free advice from current owners. I'll bet Ford is reading these posts and may use the information we provide to decide future changes or idea's they wish to include on the Mavericks and other vehicles. Cheap, and easy way to beta test (for opinions) for Ford. Don't have to spend as much on surveys, research and development among many other things! One might suggest WE are getting our wants/needs considered on future development of our vehicles, and we didn't even know it!

Uh oh... it gets worse...

I spy HVAC buttons on the screen. And they don't look like panel buttons either, they look to be part of the digital display.

I'll personally never buy a vehicle that does that.
Apparently so does the base Mustang standard display - along with Tesla and several newer vehicles - it's getting more common!

I'm ok with a larger screen, especially for maps , but not a fan of almost all controls on it
That's why the new Maverick screens have controls at the bottom.

Not even remotely, me thinking you're not that bright doesn't equate to me being offended.
