What would be the difference if it’s on the screen or controlled by knobs? You are still taking your eyes off the road.
It's not quite the same though. My current car has rotating knobs for fan speed, temperature, and direction. Even if I have to take my eyes off the road for a second to get The right knob I can just reach and grab it and adjust it without looking. I really don't have to though cuz I know which one is the fan speed and that's usually what I'm adjusting.

Uh oh... it gets worse...

I spy HVAC buttons on the screen. And they don't look like panel buttons either, they look to be part of the digital display.

I'll personally never buy a vehicle that does that.
Yup, no physical knobs or buttons for primary controls, I’ll pass.

That was a big reason I didn’t even consider the Santa Cruz.

It looks like there's going to be a little sort of buttons on the bottom of the screen but there might be redundant physical controls lower down on the dash.

Buttons beat touchscreens in cars, and now there’s data to prove it

VB lays the blame for the shift from bottons to screens with designers who "want a 'clean' interior with minimal switchgear." That's fair, but I don't think we can count out the accountants either. If everything can be achieved by touching the screen, then the company doesn't also have to pay for the plastic and wires that buttons are made from, nor the time it takes someone to make that into buttons or install them in a car.

I like that the radar is on the bottom grille but hate the top grill lol. I have a 2024 XL so if I can retrofit that lower grill with radar instead of the top grill I'll be so freaking happy. I'm honestly ok with the current dash/center console. I'd be pretty sad if I lost my volume knob tbh... but that screen looks sick! As long as there is an XL Hybrid AWD I'll go get it, otherwise I'm pretty happy with my XL Hybrid 24'.

I’m not sure if this article touches on the argument of safe driving but I’m not reading it. Maybe you can give me the Readers Digest version. 😜

I like the screen but it was pretty obvious this was coming with the cubby.

Ford Maverick Spied: Maverick Refresh Lobo ST Street Truck Reveals New Vertical Grille Design & 13" Infotainment Screen results

TLDR: It took up to 4x as long to perform the same set of tasks on a touchscreen vs analog (2005 Volvo). According to the original European article the driver also looked further down when using many touch screens (portrait ones the worst).

Looks like the bed sides are taller (as is the tailgate). I don’t like it. It seems to be trying to mimic the Santa Cruz look. One of the “features” of the Maverick is the ease of getting things in and out of the bed from the side. I hope they don’t design that out.

I know if I'm comfortable, rotate counterclockwise or anticlockwise if you're British makes it colder or clockwise makes it warmer. If I go to work in the morning and it's a little chilly and the dial is set warmer, I can rotate it all the way to the left if I want it cold.

Guys!! THIS IS TOTALLY WHAT I SAW WHEN I POSTED ABOUT THIS 2 WEEKS AGO. WHEN I SAW THE TRUCK, THE FRONT END WASN'T COVERED BUT THE REAR AREA WAS. AS HE PASSED ME, I SAW THIS HEAD UNIT INSIDE. THIS IS EXACTLY THE INSIDE I SAW. WE WERE BOTH GOING 70MPH SO I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO GET OUT MY CELL PHONE AND TRY TO SNAP A PHOTO. I TOLD YOU ALL I SAW THIS AND YOU KEPT SAYING I DIDN'T. I WAS THERE, YOU WEREN'T. THIS IS THE TRUCK I SAW, IN CALIFORNIA, TWO WEEKS AGO, ON THE 5FWY NEAR MISSION VIEJO/IRVINE AREA HEADING SOUTH.
Cool, you get to be right this time... But you don't have to yell at us... ;)

Big assumption to even say ST. There has been only speculation about this being an ST. Most likely it's not.
Yes, complete speculation on my part as a poster. Huge assumption. I mean the thread was only submitted by the Maverick Truck Club Forum Administrator and titled:

Maverick Refresh Lobo ST Street Truck

all kidding aside.. no one knows what we are looking at here...

Not my cup of tea. They have managed to make it unattractive. Bigger screen is not a selling point to me, just a bigger distraction.
