My 2022 (build date October 31, 2022) show only two recalls...

Dec 15,2023
Manufacturer Recall Number23C41
NHTSA Recall Number23V848
Summary
FORD MOTOR COMPANY FORD RECALL NO. 23C41 CERTAIN 2022 2024 MODEL YEAR FORD MAVERICK VEHICLES TURN SIGNAL OUTAGE DETECTION NOTIFICATION FAILURE

Safety Risk
VEHICLE OPERATORS WILL NOT RECEIVE THE INTENDED INCREASE IN FLASHING RATE NOTIFICATION TO ALERT THEM THAT A SINGLE REAR TURN SIGNAL BULB IS OUT. IF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MEET FMVSS 108 INTENSITY REQUIREMENTS, THE VEHICLE MAY NOT ALERT OTHER ROAD USERS OF AN UPCOMING TURN OR LANE CHANGE, WHICH CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Apr 26,2024
Manufacturer Recall Number24S27
NHTSA Recall NumberAWAITING
Summary
THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM CURRENT THRESHOLD WAS IMPROPERLY CALIBRATED AND MAY FALSELY DETECT A CURRENT OVERLOAD ON ONE OR BOTH TAILLAMP CIRCUITS.

Safety Risk
THIS MAY CAUSE ONE OR BOTH TAILLAMPS TO STOP ILLUMINATING DURING A DRIVE CYCLE. TAILLAMP FUNCTION WILL RECOVER WITH A KEY CYCLE OR MANUAL CYCLE OF THE HEADLAMP SWITCH. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT AFFECT THE STOP LAMPS INCLUDING CENTER MOUNT STOP LAMP OR TURN SIGNAL FUNCTIONS.

The fact that the "Brake or Stop Lamps" are NOT affected is a slight relief... 😬
But, It is interseting about the remedy for this 2nd Recall. Doing a "Key Cycle" = assuming turning the Truck, OFF than ON. OR "Manual Cycle" = turning the light dial OFF than ON...

I have had the "PuP' for 502 days now... So Far So Good...

Jerry
Yes, if the issue was with the brake lights that would be more concerning

There are recalls that can be put off but I’m not sure this one is especially if you drive at night much or in stormy weather.

I was not referring to breakdowns. I was referring to the fact that I was not having the two issues the recalls they did to my truck were supposed to address.
Oh, gotcha. I haven't either. As a matter of fact, I have yet to meet anyone who has had those issues.

Can we just get rid of the dang computer modules controlling everything?

I mean c'mon Ford, your a car( well truck/suv company except for the mustang) leave the computer stuff to the folks at Apple and Microsoft..
If Ford would do that everyone would complain that the vehicle wouldn’t do this and that. Damn if you do damn if you don’t.

Fortunately I rarely drive at night . rain could be a problem but I'll just put on turn signal or emergency flashers if rain extremely heavy . I will get software update at next oil change by dealer .

Oh, I'm so excited. I finally have one of the recall problems. Haven't had any of the others.
Taillights started going weird a few weeks ago. One side would work, the other not. Top works but bottom doesn't, back and forth. Right now the bottom left doesn't work.
Took it to my regular mechanic who looked into it and got frustrated. Told me to take it to Ford since its under warranty and problem some sort of module issue.

Just had the recall done. It took 15 minutes. Quick and easy!

My dealer did oil changes and no recalls . next oil change probably get soft ware updates but not air bags . air bag recalls have been a nightmare because techs aren't trained well enough to perform them cleanly and properly ( headliner falling and greasy , new rattles , ECT ) . currently have no rattling and headliner in good shape .

I would be careful not to wait too long to get that recall (air bag) done as the techs will eventually lose any currency that they have in doing it. Unless of course you plan to let it be someone else's problem after your ownership.

This one showed up on my recall list. I've already made an appointment for tomorrow morning (dropping off tonight) for the previous two recalls that I finally got around to scheduling. (Turn signal outage detection & ipc illumination.) I'll make sure I mention all 3 recalls on the drop-off form tonight.

Though... the turn signal outage is referenced in the recall notice as a BCM update, just like this thread's recall. I wonder if the Ford techs at my dealer will have to update the BCM twice, or if the latest BCM update file has the fixes for both... Not my problem, but just curious.

All this recall nonsense makes me wonder if the Sync/Non-sync builds behave differently for turn/tail/brake lights with the BCM unit ?

And, my sister owns a Honda Passpout and jsut talked to me this evening about the fact taht hers is randomly not starting. Every battery test she’s had done shows the battery is fine. So Honda also has gremlins too. I dont think this is unique to Ford. The more our cars become smart phones on wheels, the more this kind of stuff is going to happen. I just cant wait until these updates can just be pushed wirelessly to the vehicle overnight.
With Ford's current track record on recalls, I definitely don't want Ford pushing recall updates to my Maverick overnight. I want to know ahead of time that anything they do has been well "vetted" and does not create other problems before having them applied to my vehicle.

I plan to physically verify my tail lights are on at night until I get this recall done. If unable to stop and do that, at least cycle the switch off and on once until I can stop and verify they're on.

I have had two recalls done without any issues. Like you though I probably won’t rush down to do it but will likely wait till my next oil change. I don’t drive much at night or in stormy weather and if I do before update I’ll do as you have said.
