How long ago was your update done? I'm see it take as long as over 3 months for the breakdowns to happen.
I was not referring to breakdowns. I was referring to the fact that I was not having the two issues the recalls they did to my truck were supposed to address.

Recall popped up on mine. I'll have them fix in the driveway like I did the last one.

Yes sir, norm Reeves Ford in Cerritos.
Do you live less than 2 miles from them? The reason I am asking is because the dealer I'm close to won't come to my house. I'm too far.

ET is engineering test mode and it should go away after you power off the truck and then restart it.

if it's stuck in ET mode that is not normal and you should definitely go back to your dealership.
Sorry but ET is “Elapsed Time”. It’s a stop watch so when I’m drag racing I can get my 1/4 mile time.

So I see where some people here have had an oil change at Ford, but told them not to do any recalls. Wil most dealers do that? I need an oil change but dont want any of the recalls. My dealership doesn't provide loaners or rental cars, so I don't want to take any changes. Changing the oil myself is not an option.
If it's a safety recall, the dealership is required to do it.

You don't have to get your oil changed at the dealership. Just go to a trusted mechanic and keep all the receipts. Scan and upload copies of the receipts to your Ford account either on the website or through the app. Make sure you use approved oil and filter.

What happens to a dealer if they don't have the time/manpower/parts to do a safety recall the same day that an oil change is scheduled?

Are they punished or sanctioned in some way?

Can they take possession of someones personal property and refuse to let the owner drive away until the recall is completed?

lol yeah, I'm looking forward to that Maverick ecoboost with 4 weber carbs. those were the good old days... NOT
Yesteryear I had a Ford 406 tripower with a Mallory dual point.
Syncing the linkage and setting the points, a monthly task. Bad ol days. 🤣
Take it to the drags and strip second gear off the cluster, good times.

and the fact you can't drive a the cybertruck through water without using car wash mode...A maverick is more capable in knee high water lol and that its twice the price as advertised...
I especially like the fact that rebooting the Tesla system can brick it for 5 hours 😜

Tesla has already done this, and some of the automakers are slowly following. This Autoline After Hours goes deep into the subject. As an old software engineer, I loved this episode.

Thanks Scott, that was an interesting video!

Why the resistance? Computer has a bug and they want to fix it for free. Should take all of ten minutes with most of that being paperwork.

I have posted about this exact issue a few times where the light assembly just doesn't illuminate and then if you manually switch the lights off then back to auto, they come back on. but during the time when one whole rear light assembly isn't illuminated, the turn and brake signals still work as intended. It sounds like this will be a fix to that! Fingers crossed!!
Yup, I posted about the same issue previously and back in early March I was able to duplicate it for the local dealership so they could see it. They ended up replacing my BCM and at least once since then it has happened again where the passenger taillight didn't turn on.

Yep. I'll get the two tail light recalls done when I make an appointment for my next oil change. I'm not worried about having any issues from having them done. Just plan ahead by making an appointment for all requested jobs.

Does anyone currently see their vehicle being affected? Ford.com and NHTSA shows nothing so far for my 23 via VIN #
I have the recall showing in the Ford Pass App for my 24 Maverick. I have one of the earliest builds of the 24 MY since I got it off the dealer lot the Monday after Thanksgiving last year. The only other recall is the one about turn signal outage detection which I still havent gotten fixed. I was waiting for my first oil change to get it done then and was also thinking I would give the dealership service departments as much time as possible to work out any kinks in performing the update.

Man ford sure is struggling with programming tail lights, this is either the 3rd or 4th recall related to them. What sucks is you have to redo all the forscan changes when they do the bcm flash, maybe they bought forscan stock or something to make sure you keep an active subscription...
My guess is that this could also mess up aftermarket LEDs that people have installed and create a new hyper flash issue due to changes that the LEd manufacturer couldn’t have designed for. I know that happened o n the turn signal recal for some. I will not be doing any aftermarket LED bulbs because of this.
