I have the recall showing in the Ford Pass App for my 24 Maverick. I have one of the earliest builds of the 24 MY since I got it off the dealer lot the Monday after Thanksgiving last year. The only other recall is the one about turn signal outage detection which I still havent gotten fixed. I was waiting for my first oil change to get it done then and was also thinking I would give the dealership service departments as much time as possible to work out any kinks in performing the update.
I'm with you. I don't see a reason to do the recall as soon as possible.

Waiting for when it's convenient makes perfect sense.

On the bright side, I talked to somebody who had a hybrid Maverick yesterday and they claimed it's their second one and they haven't had any issues. So I realized forums only show the issues, not the people who don't have problems usually. But I'm really becoming more and more hesitant about getting a Maverick. I would Hope by the time the 2025s come out if I get one of them or maybe a 2024 they would have all of these bugs worked out. I'm also a little concerned with Ford quality/ longevity compared to Japanese counterparts. Ford should really get this stuff sorted because if Toyota ever comes out with an affordable little truck like The stout scout that doesn't cost my left one or look like it's on steroids or belonging in the transformers movies. I would probably go that route instead
There's not one automaker immune from snafus like the Maverick's experiencing. My 2018 Subaru Forester has an issue with the battery draining from a module that's constantly attempting to call out on a defunct network, my 2009 Nissan had a recall for the badge on the driver's airbag that can shatter and fly into the driver's face when airbag is activated...I even owned one of the 'exploding' Pintos back in the 70s...and other manufacturers have their own special issues. Don't let it spook you out of buying a new vehicle.

I've had mine for a year. Never had a better vehicle. Don't listen to the haters. I Ordered my second Maverick the 6th of March it is supposed to be here on the 4th of this month. I have been a ASE certified Master technician for over 30 years. If I buy a second vehicle of the same model you can bet your ass they are good.
And, my sister owns a Honda Passpout and jsut talked to me this evening about the fact taht hers is randomly not starting. Every battery test she’s had done shows the battery is fine. So Honda also has gremlins too. I dont think this is unique to Ford. The more our cars become smart phones on wheels, the more this kind of stuff is going to happen. I just cant wait until these updates can just be pushed wirelessly to the vehicle overnight.

Save a copy of your Forscan configuration changes, so you don't have to start over if they're lost in the reflash.

Yeah I get it and I don't think the right word is scared. It's more like hesitant. Scared would be more like if you're afraid of something or somebody. I just don't want to buy a sled. I also realize that other vehicles have issues, although in the 8 years I've had my VW, and they're not really known for dependability these days, I've only had one recall and it was for a leaking sunroof. It just seems like Ford seems to be having a lot of them with this particular vehicle and for some reason a difficult time actually fixing them
I totally get it. Just know that my 24 Lariat Hybrid has been fantastic in the roughly 5 months since I got it. No issues at all knock on wood. I do have this recall to do, but the truck itself has not exhibited any of the issues that others have posted about. I do think the 24s have mostly worked through the early model year kinks. And even with a couple of recalls, I would definitely buy another one. it has been an exceptionally great vehicle for me.

I took my 2023 Maverick Hybrid, for Its first oil change last month 03/2024. While it was at the dealer I asked for the blinker bulb recall to be performed. The dealer called two days later and said the update failed and could not get any thing to work. No Dash, or Start cant even roll up the drivers window. See attached picture they had to put it on roller skates to move it around. Some module was to be replaced and reportedly on order, with an unknown delevery date. Three weeks later I get a call that all was ready..... the tech finally figured out somthing to reboot the computer. I have the truck back and the oil was changed, no charge.... but the recall is still pending, and unfinished. I am very leary of any updates if the system can brick the truck that easily.. Has this been dicsussed on this fourm?

It could be worse. You could have bought a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck for $100K that has had significant recalls and problems already!. The number of recalls has risen about 46% in the past 10 years across ALL manufacturers and its not slowing down..
A lot of it is software. The automotive industry needs to figure out over-the-air updates.

Does anyone currently see their vehicle being affected? Ford.com and NHTSA shows nothing so far for my 23 via VIN #
My 2022 (build date October 31, 2022) show only two recalls...

Dec 15,2023
Manufacturer Recall Number23C41
NHTSA Recall Number23V848
Summary
FORD MOTOR COMPANY FORD RECALL NO. 23C41 CERTAIN 2022 2024 MODEL YEAR FORD MAVERICK VEHICLES TURN SIGNAL OUTAGE DETECTION NOTIFICATION FAILURE

Safety Risk
VEHICLE OPERATORS WILL NOT RECEIVE THE INTENDED INCREASE IN FLASHING RATE NOTIFICATION TO ALERT THEM THAT A SINGLE REAR TURN SIGNAL BULB IS OUT. IF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MEET FMVSS 108 INTENSITY REQUIREMENTS, THE VEHICLE MAY NOT ALERT OTHER ROAD USERS OF AN UPCOMING TURN OR LANE CHANGE, WHICH CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Apr 26,2024
Manufacturer Recall Number24S27
NHTSA Recall NumberAWAITING
Summary
THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM CURRENT THRESHOLD WAS IMPROPERLY CALIBRATED AND MAY FALSELY DETECT A CURRENT OVERLOAD ON ONE OR BOTH TAILLAMP CIRCUITS.

Safety Risk
THIS MAY CAUSE ONE OR BOTH TAILLAMPS TO STOP ILLUMINATING DURING A DRIVE CYCLE. TAILLAMP FUNCTION WILL RECOVER WITH A KEY CYCLE OR MANUAL CYCLE OF THE HEADLAMP SWITCH. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT AFFECT THE STOP LAMPS INCLUDING CENTER MOUNT STOP LAMP OR TURN SIGNAL FUNCTIONS.

The fact that the "Brake or Stop Lamps" are NOT affected is a slight relief... 😬
But, It is interseting about the remedy for this 2nd Recall. Doing a "Key Cycle" = assuming turning the Truck, OFF than ON. OR "Manual Cycle" = turning the light dial OFF than ON...

I have had the "PuP' for 502 days now... So Far So Good...

This is interesting. Just a few weeks ago I had a car (that had been behind me) pull up beside me and say something about a taillight not working. I went home and worked the lights every which I could but could find no problem. Maybe this recall is related to what the other driver saw that day.

This is what happens when manufacturers over complicate every aspect of a vehicle. Goes for most products with processors today. Just because you can, doesn’t me you should. Back in the day a switch turned on sent power to a light bulb in the middle of the circuit. Now we need circuits to monitor circuits that monitor circuits.
Just bought a new dishwasher to replace a 35 year old unit I can no longer get repair parts. Included in the manual were details on how to control the unit from a phone.
Totally unnecessary and just adds complexity and the company’s bottom line.

Seriously. Was scheduled to go in last week for all the recalls on my ‘22 Hybrid, but then a new recall came out the week before. Rescheduled for third week of May and now this recall will push it all back once again. The dealer I use is an hour away, however, the battery cable CSP ends in late June, so may have to make multiple trips for recalls now.
Today the latest recall showed up guess it takes time for system to spit it out. That’s 3 open recalls none of which have ever showed any fault that I’m aware of all with software updates. I’m not rushing to have any done after reading posts of complications after recalls were performed.

As this is a service that can be performed almost as immediately as announced, perhaps I'll have mine performed this evening if there's time at work. Just get this crap out of the way and be done with it. I could have my state inspection done at this time too, I guess, as it's due this month as well.

What happens to a dealer if they don't have the time/manpower/parts to do a safety recall the same day that an oil change is scheduled?

Are they punished or sanctioned in some way?

Can they take possession of someones personal property and refuse to let the owner drive away until the recall is completed?
You need to ask a dealership those questions.

You do realize both Honda and Toyota have undergone their fair share of recalls.
I’m happy the feds have stepped in to subject manufacturers to requirements to fix their mistakes rather than have the consume pay a dealer for it.
True but Ford is what 24th in JD Power ? And I guess my thought was is the Maverick one of their worst offenders
There's not one automaker immune from snafus like the Maverick's experiencing. I appreciate the point of view and vote of confidence. At the end of the day. If I really want it I'll get it. And I know other vehicles have issues but the two you mentioned, not counting the pinto due to being 50 years ago, had one issue. Issue. I've read out here over a dozen recalls, but what's more concerning is that it seems like the dealers can't properly fix the cars to the point where people actually don't want The recalls performed or the car is updated. That is a bit concerning
