I just made an appointment for the 23S27 recall!

"It looks like there's going to be a software update. "Apparently, the update will alert the driver if it detects a rod bearing failure and limit engine load". Ford mentioned that letters will be sent out by May 6th. I'm curious to know what Ford plans to do if I experience a rod bearing failure."

@Jaboy where are you seeing notification of this recall remedy? When I search my truck's VIN on the NHTSA's and Ford's recall websites, recall 23S27 still says "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available."

Happy for you that the recall is being addressed on your truck!

They will honor your warranty and replace the entire IC engine

Once 23S27 is completed, there will be another FSA for extended warranty coverage of the engine (probably restricted to just this issue?). 23N06 is the program number for that. Ford will be releasing info to dealers on it in May.

The favorable thing is that all the recalls that required software updates(there have been many)and maintenance have been done by their mobile vans either at work or at my home.

Just got back from another recall update.
This one was for the warning lights display. Now the cluster has an elapsed time and trip odometer display which I cannot remove. It’s irritating because I don’t really want to know how long or how far I’ve gone.
While waiting for my truck at the dealership, I was strolling around the lot and a sales person approached.
He asked if I was looking for a vehicle.
I told him I was waiting for the recall to be done on my Maverick. He asked how I like it and I told him it was great but after the fourth or fifth recall I was getting less pleased. He quickly dropped away.
The most trouble free Ford I had was my 1980 Fiesta. Loved that little red ride.

Didn’t buy it for mpg, bought the Ecoboost for 250hp and plenty of easy performance upgrades!
