Installed Key Fob Remote Start -- My Favorite Mod Yet for XL / XLT / Lariat

@EONR24, what fob are you using?! I have a Lariat, but the fob doesn't have the remote start button. (My original order was supposed to have it, but they said they removed it due to "supply chain issues" with chips.) It sounds like you don't have the extra button either, just lock, unlock, lock and she fires up, huh? With the factory fob? Hmmm

remote start climate settings are adjustable via Ford Pass app AND vehicle settings in the cluster in your Maverick! AND I don't hate the Ford Pass App. Its useful. Im glad it is an option. However, I don't like the SLOW speed at which the lock/unlock and remote start work at in the App. I mean I can literally run out to my Maverick, start it and put it in reverse before the Ford Pass app can remote start it....

Added the alarm/remote start as well as a locking tailgate to my XL hybrid a month after getting my Maverick. Works great but need to contact my insurance and see if I can get a discount. Cheap and easy upgrades completely OEM parts.

Here is the Part number for the Remote Start System ULTRA Long Range Extender Antenna, PART NUMBER JS7Z15603A . I do not know if this part works with the XL/XLT key fob or the lariat key fob or both and I do not have this part installed.

Hey Everyone,

I recently installed the "Ford Perimeter Plus with Remote Start" kit on my 2024 Ford Maverick XL and it is AWESOME! Here is the Part Number KN1Z-19A361-A. The install was super easy and worked without any coding changes necessary. The remote start from the key fob is much faster and more useful than the Ford Pass App Remote Start! At times, the remote start on the Ford Pass App can take up to 30 seconds, not including getting your phone out and getting the app open. Since the XL and most XLTs don't have push to start or keyless entry, you need to have your keys out and in hand to unlock/lock the Maverick anyways! Now clicking LOCK -> UNLOCK -> LOCK starts the Maverick with my factory key fob in just a few seconds!

Who knows how long the Maverick will be supported on Ford Pass either. 5 years? 10 years? I saw that they are already removing features from vehicles older than 2017 on the FORD PASS APP!

The part you install is simply a small square module the size of a wallet you zip tie near the obd2 port. and the wire harness plugs into the existing obd2 port and replaces the obd2 as well so it is still useable. The kit gives you everything you need to install it and a booklet on the features. I will provide an install video I used below! You can adjust the Perimeter Plus alarm sensitivity manually on the module too. ALSO, this is optional but you can enable this menu via Forscan picture below. It gives your the perimeter alarm for added security. The truck will honk if someone tap on your window or tailgate, etc. as a warning.

I believe I get a honk on exiting now sometimes with this installed. Maybe I need to turn down the dial for the sensitivity ?

"CMON MAN" LOL. If you don't want to do the modification why are you here? I can go run a marathon before the ford pass app will remote start my maverick. I said the app has its uses and I don't hate it but it's not great by any means. The app takes time to open and another 30-60 seconds to remote start it. By that time I can just run out and start my vehicle. I personally don't like technology that makes thing more INCONVENIENT! One cool thing about the app is you can schedule a remote start. but that's where the coolness ends for me. Here in 5 or so years you'll lose those features in Ford Pass app anyways so it'll be nice to have this as a back up!

I start the app then push hold for what 2 seconds close phone. Make my lunch snacks for the road. Put my socks n shoes on, give the pups some water and bye pats. Grab my items and walk out. Seats warm,steering wheels warm trucks running with heat already cycling. 5 min all you need. 5 minutes....if that's to long then the internet and Amazon has ruined you.

what about when you go to the store and come back out. are you fiddling around with your phone for 3 minutes trying to open the Ford pass app in the checkout line to remote start out there? No you probably aren't. All I have to do is walk out of the store and click lock, unlock, then lock. Boom my Maverick is started. What about taking your Maverick out to Yellowstone. You think ford pass is working in Yellowstone? because it is definitely not because you cannot get any service.

Also time adds up. You want to waste 3 minutes of your life everyday remote starting through the app? go for it! I'll be wasting about 5 seconds instead. You'll be wasting about 18 hours in a year remote starting while I will be wasting about 30 minutes a year remote starting. LOL
