If they came out with a plug in maverick with say 30 mile range at around $25k for an XL they would steal so many customers from other brands it would be crazy... assuming they could make them fast enoughYour other hybrid is the gold standard, IMO.
What I meant was more along the lines of the Prius.. great car, great MPG, extremely slow. Nice to see that the Maverick is still reasonably quick. A plug-in version will be awesome. If that comes out in a couple of years, I'll be upgrading.
Rav4 prime claims to have a 40ish mile rang on a 18kw battery. With battery costs around $140 per KW that would be about $2500 added to the Maverick. Plus some cost added for a slightly beefed up motor, it seems like it could be doable. I think plug in hybrids get tax rebates too.
