Should i change 22 xl eco to 24 xl hybrid

Received word yesterday the 24 xl hybrid i ordered was going to be built may 13. I thought i would replace my 22eco but i am not sure now. I have had zero problems with it and installed up grades i like. The only thing my eco doesn't have is 42mpg. Secondary is price my 22 xl eco was 21,820 with 1.9 financing the 24 xl hybrid is 26,990 with 7.5 financing. The math says keep the 22eco but the 24 hybrid i very attractive. I would like to hear some input.

Ultimately its your choice but you can buy a lot of gas with the money you save buy not buying the new truck.

Keep the EB, not only makes the most financial sense, I would lay money that you will be happier and enjoy your current truck more than the new hybrid - everything does not have to be practical.....

You are right and i did not include the money for new dealer doc fees, tax and tags.

Keep the EB, not only makes the most financial sense, I would lay money that you will be happier and enjoy your current truck more than the new hybrid - everything does not have to be practical.....

I do love my eco boost, my wife has a 24 xl hybrid and she loves that. I have about three months before it comes in to change my mind back and forth.

I have mine just as I wanted , with the eibachs, steeda bars and stickier Yokohama's it is planted very nicely, the intake and exhaust add a bit more fun and presto-the daily commute is much much better!

Yes , that is another thing i added over a thousand dollars of aftermarket options. Sport bar, tonneau cover, window tint and on. I do have my eco how i like it.

Ultimately it's your decision. In a perfect world the newer vehicle should be worth more 3 years down the road because your 22 would be 5 years old. It's not perfect and depending on mileage on the odometer and resale on a hybrid may be less because potential buyers concerned over the hybrids battery.

Also you have to have notice the difference in driving experience with the increased horsepower and the increased torque on the ecoboost. You will probably see an increase cost in insurance on the 24 and the hybrid. It also depends on what type of areas your driving. If your majority of driving is highway I don't think you would be saving much on fuel. Also it depends on how many miles a year you drive.

I don't want to talk you into or out of the purchase. I just hope you look at everything and make a knowledgeable decision based on all the information you have available.

I feel the hybrids power is good and has good pick up. My eco has great pick up and power, i don' want to say it has to much power but it has more than i use.

I had a similar decision last fall. I have a 22 XLT with Lux and 360. Really like it but wished I bought a Lariat so I ordered a 23 Lariat. When the Lariat came in, and I realized I only drove 7500 miles a year on the 22, it was not worth it to upgrade for the slight differences. It would have ended up costing me around $6,000 to move up to the Lariat so I decided I was happy to save the money and keep the XLT. XLT has been very solid, a few recalls still need to be performed, but I have had no issues. Usually the cheapest car is the one you already own.

No way it makes sense to trade IMO. You have a hybrid already with your wife’s truck. Maybe if the MY 24 was a hybrid AWD. It’s not. I’d at least wait for that, if it ever happens.
