The car does wag the steering wheel if I go out of my lane, but it does not do anything if I get
to close to the car in front of me. Does that only work when you have cruise turned on? It does
not work with everyday driving down the street situations? Thank you.

p.s. I have looked in the menu's and cannot find anything I could change.

So (warning it’ll scare the crap out of you when it happens) mine went off twice in my three months owning it.

1. There was an immediate stop with no warnings. To prevent a collision I braked hard and swerved slightly to avoid the vehicle in front of me. Due to the immediate stop where the speed limit was about 50 vs the immediate decrease in speed by the vehicle in front of me, I wonder if that triggered it.

2. I was speeding up to go around a slower moving vehicle that pulled out in front of me, and though I had tons of room to pass, I think the system thought I was about to rear end the vehicle in front of me.

I wonder if it has to do with your rate of speed vs that of the object in front of you? I unfortunately don’t know any other way to trigger it unless maybe tested by ford? (Both instances happened without cruise control on)

The steering wheel wag isn't much of a wag but the lane keeping sys must be turned on, it does not keep you in the lane just lets you know you cross the center or curb side painted lines. The accident avoidance feature doesn't do any more than the dash flash and a noise when you approach the car in front of you too fast or they slows too fast, it will not brake for you. To get that option you need the optional adaptive cruise option. I might be wrong since I don't really care about either option and pay attention when I drive. :) But I do like the blind spot monitoring.

I think Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking is standard on all Mavericks, including my cruise-control-less XL, but I haven't tested AEB myself.

The 360 Assist, standard on the Lariat for 24, does do lane centering where it will keep you tracking right down the center of your lane and the adaptive cruise control will do stop and go in traffic.

Traded my month old xlt for a lowly xl. On ramp from one highway to another last week. 2 lanes merge to one. 10 or so cars, always somebody being an idiot flying on the right trying to cut in last second. Anyway everyone brakes hard. A rectangular collision box popped up,collision somethingorother. Pretty sure it was this.
More to the story. A semi behind me is blasting his horn like it's my fault. Merge on highway and drive a couple miles at 65. he catches up passes and starts brake checking me and slowing way down. Lucky for him he didn't actually stop and approach me. Probably on amphetamines and bleed out fast with his road rage heart rate.

@dlhort1955 On your menus, go into settings (truck pic), then Driver Assistance, then Pre Collision Assistance. In there you can set sensitivity and turn auto braking on or off....

And we wonder why an entry level truck costs so much?
Too much foo foo stuff . The lane assist almost made me crash into a another vehicle on a merging lane on a freeway intersection in the rain at 65 going on a curve as 2 lanes merged tried to pull ( hold)me as as I was merging( had) to . Very unnerving , in the rain at speed . Got off at the next exit , looked up how to turn all that crap off and now drive my own vehicle , using all my own talents . Not relying on a windshield mounted camera 6 or seven sensors and some kids algorithms to guide me past a few vehicles, a semi and concrete k rail 100’ up above another freeway , on an overpass exchange in the rain!

Get closer and go real fast - it's not just the distance from the moron in pulling in front of you or braking for no reason at all, it's the relative speed of both vehicles along with the distance.
I had someone pull out in front of me at a real short distance going much slower than me, and just as I was hitting the brakes my whole dashboard seemed to go flashing red and the brakes were applied.
Not sure if it was me or the truck but the braking avoided the car in front of me by a few inches.
It would be nice if the horn would be automatically applied - I had to do that myself - along with a hand signal.

Yeah, if you used your turn signal when you change lanes or merge like you're supposed to it disables that little "bump" it gives you telling you to stay in your lane.
But that little bump can be overcome so easy I don't know how you almost crash into another vehicle.
I think it's great.
I think that when that little bump happens you should automatically be sent a ticket for not using your turn signals or playing with your phone or whatever you're doing to go over the line without a turn signal.
You are supposed to use your own talents.
This stuff doesn't guide you thru anything, if it's activated, you're doing something wrong.

"May 31, 2023, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) proposed new rules that would make AEB mandatory on all new passenger cars and light trucks."

Just like back up cameras, this is about to become required on all new passenger cars and light trucks. It is also basically required if you want to score high on the safety tests. Ford would have been stupid to no include it on the truck.

I was in the main lane , a truck was in the merging lane in my slight rear , right was merging in towards me , I was ahead and slightly went towards white shoulder line on left when it “bumped” me at 65 in the rain and at a angled merging on-ramp 100’ above the lower freeway.
It was the other truck merging behind me , thought I’d give em an extra foot , fords camera alignment didn’t like me getting to close to emergency shoulder .
1987 bronco handles much better in the rain on 35” tires anyways.

My bump is more like a slight notch, it is so easily overcome. I've only experienced it a couple of times when I was trying to make it happen
without using my turn signal.
I appreciate the fact that you had to move fast and not use your turn signal but after looking that you could move over (you did look, right?) that little notch couldn't have stopped you.
I have never had it happen when I move "towards the white shoulder line" - only crossing it.
That's what these warnings are for, to warn you of moving into another lane without looking or using your turn signals.
Yeah, 9 times out of 10 there will be no one there, your Bronco just assumes that, your Maverick doesn't.

If a vehicle is in your blind spot and the indicator is on, the "little" bump cannot be overcome. Did not test right turn but it appeared that steering was locked when imminent collision screen was activated in straight ahead with truck stopping about 6-12" from impact so it appeared computer was in "no sweat" mode. Could not say if it was my pressure or trucks automatic stopping but stopping was achieved without skidding tires and I could not have put any more pressure onto pedal.
