F-150 Fog Lamp Switch and Wire Harness Installed in Maverick - DIY

The DD setup uses a realy And fuse and ground. My setup its straight from the bcm to the front fog lights. But im going to start adding fuse next to the bcm for safety reasson just in case. I had my setup for almost 2 years i think i still havent had any issues with blown fuses or wire malfunctions.

Fuse shouldn’t be needed. If over draw occurred the FET would trip and be reset next power cycle.

FWIW on my 350, I’m driving two Baja Squadron Pros off the factory foglight connectors and they are well under budget amps wise. The BCM is the relay in this case.

Hi @Vtech87pr1, great tutorial. I had purchased and installed my DD fog light kit but was a little disappointment at the switch it comes with and was hesitant to install it. And then I came across your post and I can't describe my excitement. Right away I went online and ordered the switch and the leads for the BCM connector. I'm currently performing the install and ran into not being able to unlatch the BCM connector from the fuse panel. Is there a trick to it? I tried pushing the lever but won't budge. Help! . Below is a snip of your own picture with markings on the latch I refer to.

In the middle of the lever there's that latch you need to push and then you can pull back on the lever.

Will be posting pictures soon as that is probably the part I consider the hardest so far. I'm very handy and comfortable around car electronics but I was panicking of thinking I could break that assembly and cause myself a bigger headache.

100% buying a harness and pretty interested in being your volunteer. Would just need to plan it with you as I'd be coming over from Ohio.

I will also be using Diode Dynamics (SSC1 Pods) - this kit specifically with the Tremor bezels and brackets:

Sounds like a great opportunity. Please be one of those that make the videos with a "stationary videos frame concept". The constant shaking, tilting and moving around type videos can be hard to follow. One doesn't need to hold a camera in one hand while moving around to the front of the truck then bend over into the engine compartment, then keep holding the camera while crawling underneath.............you get my drift. I actually don't watch those type of videos and search for the ones where you don't get sea sick. LoL. Just me!
