Thats all I buy is AGM's, I have an Odyssey in my motorcycle. What's the story with the stock 12v battery? What's special about it? What AGM fits the Maverick hybrid? Is there a downside to the AGM?
Hi Gunnar, Basically, you just need to purchase an AGM with the dimensions similar to the stock battery. The LN1 AGM AC Delco Battery fits. There is a whole thread on battery types, so you really have a lot of choices. Because most AGM batteries work better with the software charging system and was built to run with the Maverick, you can't go wrong. Please type in AGM battery in the search bar and you should find a whole bunch. Read and research. A lot of people in here with good electronics and battery knowledge have installed their own AGM batteries. Walmart has one for under $160. There is also a complete and detailed thread about the history of the stock battery. Too much to type here except to say that the correct AGM battery that Ford was using became unavailable during late 2022 to 2023 production. In order to keep production from stopping, the alternative batteries were installed. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, im not that adept at the forum navigation but I can figure that out. Im not having any problems yet so I will wait.

When I first got my 23 hybrid lariat the cigarette power point would stay on forever after truck was turned off.
After the latest reprogram it was turning off when I shut the truck off and been that way for 2 months
Now it stays on for 20 min plus after truck turned off and nothing has been done to the truck.
I'm afraid it has AI and thinking for itself :confused:
We could go old school and rewire the interior lights and 12v convenience circuits to be independent 12v from the rest of the truck's CAN bus.

I have found that this truck sometimes takes up to one hour to completely shut down everything except the Fordpass app. This is why the original golf cart battery that came with the truck was destined to fail. Getting an AGM battery as a Christmas present for me.
There is a post on this blog that states, to turn everything off, hit your lock button twice on the key fob and that stops the truck talking back and forth with the key fob.

There is a post on this blog that states, to turn everything off, hit your lock button twice on the key fob and that stops the truck talking back and forth with the key fob.
I know about locking it twice. But sit in your garage up to 20 minutes afterwards. You will still hear clicks. This is how Hybrids work. It's not talking with the key fob. It just takes this long to settle down. 2015 Prius I had did the same thing.

With 4000 miles on my MY22 Lariat, and having deep sleep mode issues for the past year or so, since I'm retired and don't drive it all that often, Ford put a new battery in it. I now hit the key fob lock twice and keep my key fob in a faraday pouch. I'm hoping it will keep the battery charged longer.
I have sat in my truck while my wife is at a doctor's visit, and it does crackle, snap and pop for about 20 minutes. This is my first hybrid, so was unaware of that happening.
