I'm trying to order XL + Hybrid + tow hitch

Dealer gave me this quote

Delivery date: The ETA is 3-6 months.

MSRP: $27,010

Document Fee: $699

MV Fee: $399

NJ Tire Fee: $7.50

Tax: $1,835.72

Total: $29,951.22

Any BS here?
Delivery time seems too good to be true, realistically, how long is the wait?
Any good dealers that you've worked with?

I'm just wondering if at this points not better to wait on MY25 or if not look for a MY24 on the lot at MSRP.

Almost impossible to find XL + Hybrid on the lot
Personally, Im looking to spend extra for XLT or Lariat, so just targeting XL

Hmmm maybe so there but not out west here. People are turning down orders and they are becoming available.

Each state is different but in my experience, any time something ends in " 99" it is a junk fee and subject to negotiation. The MV motor vehicle fee is for the license plate and registration? They should have a chart that calculates that exactly. But the $699 fee to prepare documents is pure garbage. Go online to other dealers and ask them to give you an itemized price breakdown of their out-the-door price for your build.

The document fee is higher than I paid, and I believe is mostly pure profit for the dealer, but I think it's not uncommon to see it listed and may be inline with other dealers. Not sure? It is about twice what I paid for that, though.

Like Oscarcat mentioned, that and the MV fee would be the two I would question. The license fee ending in $99 does seem unusual, but not impossible.

As presented, if I wanted the vehicle and was given a reasonable explanation for those two items, I'd probably buy it. No unwanted rustproofing, or vin etching garbage added,so that's a plus.

Good luck! :)

I ordered my XLT Hybrid from Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester, NY. I paid invoice (about $800 below MSRP) + $175 dealer fee + $12.50 temporary tag that gave me 30 days to get the truck back to Florida. I then went to Florida DMV and paid sales tax and tags, no other fees. Invoice is what everyone pays at Van Bortel for an ordered Maverick.

Check with NJ DMV to see what they would charge you if you bought out of state and handled the paperwork directly with them. Then look at what a one-way flight from EWR to ROC would cost; JetBlue has offered cheap direct flights in the past. Van Bortel does not accept deposits (it's all done on a handshake), so what do you have to lose by looking at your options?

Hey Tom - NJ Maverick buyer here. Nothing seems to be incredibly off with your numbers. My dealer is Tom's Ford in Keyport. Ordered my Maverick Tremor on Jan 23rd through them. MSRP + $11.50 online MV Fee + $695 Documentary Fee. My sales tax was calculated as 6.625% of the total price of the vehicle + those fees above, minus any trade-in value. On top of that (but un-taxed) my dealer charged $450 for the registration/title fee and $7.50 for NJ MV tire fee. My dealer originally estimated 4-6 months to delivery, however, my Mav went into production on Feb 20th, and was built Feb 27th. It's in transport now, with an estimated delivery date of March 13th to March 26th. So, knock wood, two months from order to delivery. A lot of this is driven by dealer allocations, as well as vehicle features selected, so your experience with lead times may differ. My experience with Tom's Ford in Keyport has been great so far. Been working with Ken there, and there hasn't been any nonsense. Good luck with your Maverick!

Smells like BS to me. I ordered my XL Hybrid over the phone with no deposit. I paid the dealer less than MSRP + a $129 doc. fee. At delivery, OTD including the doc fee was $23,339.

I paid sales tax, registration and tag fee ($800 total) at the state DMV.

"...Doc fee of $699? WTF!!!..."

Ford dealers in the Tampa Bay area are charging anywhere from $799-$1299 doc fee.

Also in NJ…confirm with them first that they will take the Farm Bureau $500 discount certificate. If so, join the Illinois farm bureau (Adams County). It costs $20 to join. Wait thirty days, then print your certificate and knock $500 off the price…

I'm up in morris cty but decided to get mine from Chapman Ford in Horsham PA. 1% under invoice but will be paying 449 for PA doc fee. Ordered mine on Nov 29, Nov 30th received build date of 1/22, actualy build started 1/19 but has been enroute for over a month with it being stuck at some "junction point" in IL. ETA 3/10-14 but the truck hasn't moved from the junction point so who knows. Good luck.

I’d do the copilot 360 package for $600 something dollars get power mirrors and full size spare !
Think that is best value on base xl . Do the farm bureau thing and you’re looking at a little over 100$ .
People think power mirrors are standard , they are not! At least on the 24’s I ordered they were not.
