that's a bit different than mine, which had no symptoms other than the warning light, and it went away never (yet) to return.

hopefully your dealer can easily diagnose. I have heard of two repairs related to this error, besides the shift knob. I've heard of the Power Transfer Unit (center differential) or the driveshaft being replaced.
They were unable to diagnose an issue with the knocking in the accelerator, or more likely they were unable to experience it as it happens rarely. However, the wrench light on the dash was apparently due to SW update requirement in this case.

I wouldn't worry too much, just take it to the dealership if the issue persists. Interesting how we're essentially seeing the inverse of issues between the ecoboost and hybrids. When the maverick first came out, it was mostly the hybrids having issues. Now most of those problems have been resolved. But we're starting to see a lot of EBS with engine and transmission issues, a few transmission failures already. I'm confident that just like the hybrid, it's just a case of 1-2% of owners having issues, but it's still sad to see regardless. I wish my fellow maverick owners the best, let us hope most of us avoid having these issues.

We received the same 'AWD Fault/Service vehicle soon' warning last week. PTU is going to be replaced under warranty.

Details on the fault below.

PINPOINT TEST M: C0092:92

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The AWD module has learned a normal fork position that exceeds threshold. The actuator and fork assembly and/or the PTU are worn or damaged.

Never towed anything with mine ... and that happened to me. Except the transmission completely disengaged and the vehicle wouldn't move again. Took it to the dealership and they flagged it as a sensor malfunction. Replaced the sensor and it still hasn't fixed the problem. They've had it for 2 weeks now and are right back to square one trying to figure it out.

Vehicle was completely immobilized, transmission disengaged entirely, and the vehicle was essentially in neutral. Same warning signs as you've all shown here though.

I had a Powertrain malfunction alert last year on the freeway doing 80- Luckily was able to pull over at the next exit while under reduced power- Pulled into a gas/station turned the truck off then back on and the error code cleared and hasn't come back since - Assuming the code is still detectable by the dealer- Curious if I should have this investigated ?

Hi there! I can look into your maverick's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your maverick's VIN?

On my way home from work, I got an unwelcomed wrench icon in my gauge cluster and a notification prompting me to service the engine soon. A few seconds later, I get a notification on my FordPass App notifying me that the vehicle detected a powertain AWD/4WD fault, limited power. At first I thought it was just letting me know that my routine maintenance was due but I was way wrong. So I drove home nervously keeping my throttle to a minimum and when I pulled into the driveway, I turned everything off for a few seconds then restarted it and now the warning light is gone. I even drove it around the block to make sure that it would stay off and not come back on when I start driving. I even gave it a little bit more throttle and everything is fine. And as I got in the door, I went back into my FordPass App and there's no issues reported. In my vehicle file it says, "Vehicle Status No Alerts" with a green check icon. So it's nothing even happened, weird. However, since it popped up, I'm sure it'll pop up again. I was wondering if anyone else with the 2.0L Ecoboost AWD have gotten a powertrain fault and knows what it really means and if I should be worried.
I just had this same notification occur while coming home this evening.
I can’t say I notice any difference n my vehicle but it is definitely concerning. I hope I can get into my dealer tomorrow and have it looked into.
