My 78 Camaro I dropped a 454 in was probably the most fun to drive vehicle as far as a once in a lifetime holy crap scary fast car is concerned. The open rear quickly broke and I put in a proper posi-trac with 3:42 gears.

However my 96 Miata is the most overall fun to drive vehicle I have owned. Beautiful MT 5-spd and top down rig that makes me smile. Like driving a go-cart on the street.

I also owned a 78 Camaro. It was a fast road hugger, and a hoot to drive. That said, I do like the feel of my Maverick and find it a pleasure to drive. Keep in mind I'm several decades older now.

Interesting the Mazda Miata keeps popping up.
They're slow but you can drive them hard without getting into trouble. Highly dependable, they handle like a go-kart. And in fact often you HAVE to drive them like a race car to not die in traffic.

Miatas may not be fast cars but they are also not slow. The way they drive makes them feel much faster than they are. Zippy is a great term for the Miata.

And you may be damned to hell if you buy one with an automatic transmission because the stick is so perfect that an auto is a crime against this little car.

88' - 4cyl Camry = Meh
04' - 6cyl Saturn Vue = Fun for an SUV
13' - Odyssey = Not fun but makes trips fun
24' - Maverick Eco = Kinda fun for a truck, but I'm only at 180 miles and taking it easy through break in.

98' - Miata = Sat in it and couldn't close the door at 6'6". Missed opp I guess 😁.

There’s a reason these keep coming up and so many sold. I’ve had this since 91 and always had another car. I’ve had Honda, Nissan, VW Passat 6 speed light turbo 4, BMW X3 6 speed. My 17 year old got the BMW when I got the maverick poverty wagon. I love the poverty wagon. It‘s fun for different reasons than the Miata, but a car you can drop the top and tach past 6 while shifting gears is going to be hard to beat. After over 30 years it’s got a reliability that’s going to garner loyalty. I have to say I’m really enjoying the hybrid maverick. The last American car I had was a 1979 Monte Carlo. I’m enjoying driving a ford truck that gets around 40 mpg. It was under $25,000 all fees out the door. That’s amazing.

1967 Dodge Charger, 383. Fast in a straight line, but a fun car for a high school kid. The rear sloped window (hatch) got you into the back and the rear seats folded forward making a nice place for a blanket and the girlfriend.... nuff said.
1971 Dodge Charger 440 R/T. Very fast for a heavy car especially with the mods. Straight line only, swayed like hell. mid 11 sec quarters!
1971 Porsche 911S, Targa. Car was originally from Germany with all German gauges. Friends all thought at 100 were were flying! (62 mph) Haha. Not too fast but great handling on curves.
2003 Porsche Boxster "S" While not like a more modern 911, very fast. Book said it would make 164, I had it to 150 and my state trooper buddy hit 155 with some left. But it absolutely shined on the twisties, would slam your head into side glass easily! Those the have owned the Miata let me tell you, I have utmost respect for. Driving on Hwy 65 in western Colorado once, guy tried to pass me in one. He did not, but , MAN he was on my ass most of the way (maybe 20 miles) and a great driver also. I could outrun him but it wasn't easy. We stopped at an old country store and talked. Nice guy. He used to race his in Denver at some track. I was amazed at what a little engine could do but it was a great handling car in the turns also!

Can’t believe I’m the first to say VW GTI, mine was a 2017, and sadly an auto so the wife could drive it. I had that car tuned stage 2+, 337hp and 369tq. Amazing how fast it would go from 60 to 100. 132 was the highest I ever went, but it had a lot left. Crazy fun car. Sold it at 188,000 miles when the turbo (unsurprisingly) started to act up.

Honorable mention to my 1972 Lemans Sport with a 455 Rocket. I never went anywhere without money for gas! It wasn’t in the best shape so never had it over 100, but man, easy to get in trouble with that one. Sold it for $200 after I stomped on the gas once and the frame broke. If only I knew what I had back then. 🙃

So far, the EV6 has been the most fun, especially in Sport Mode

I had a little volvo once, it was fun to drive but a mechanical mess. I still have the disassembled Variable valve timing gear on my night stand since the dumb thing cost me a thousand bucks to replace. I barely got that much back when I traded it in.

I don't know if I'd say the maverick is "fun" to drive. It has some good power to it at least. The base model fusion I had in the interim wasn't a bad car but it severely lacked in power.

I wouldn't say they're slow, around a tight complex road course, a Miata is gonna blow the doors off most of the cars there. It's all relative I suppose. I view a Miata that can carry great speed in the corners as being a better, and in many cases, a faster sports car than something like a challenger hellcat, which is going to rocket along at high speeds in a straight line, but corners like a boat with a drunk captain at the helm, not to mention you can put the miatas power down constantly, something like a hellcat, not so much.

I also have a few two many boring cars I’ve owned over the years to list.
But I can say my most fun car to drive is my
16 focus rs full built long block and nx2 turbo over 500awhp.
Close second is my
2 rx 8’s rotary power is just so much fun with a great chassis.
But all my cars I make fun to drive in one way or another
23 f-150 over 600hp 3.5 ecoboost
22 gt 500 over 1000whp.
Edge 2.0 tuned on e-30
95 mustang gt super charged.

These are the fun ones I currently have I the stable. But fun is so subjective for me. Depends on what I’m doing. So I ah e to cover my bases.
