I have a 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid with 30K miles. I took it to the dealer 2 weeks ago to get a few recalls done and to fix a "Shift SYS Fault" service alert. They replaced the shift knob to fix they shift fault.(apparently a common problem) I got 3 or 4 recalls done, including side air bags and I think the blinkers and no start. (I'll check my paperwork later to confirm what they said they did)
I picked it up Thursday and noticed some strange engine noises. It's a high pitched whining/buzzing that sounds like a mix of air blowing with old PC boot up noises. It does not make noises in electric mode. The noise starts when the engine starts. I notice it most between 20-50MPH. The hybrid has always made some weird noises, but this is different, louder, and higher pitched. I haven't noticed a change in handling or acceleration. I'm probably going to call the dealer again to see what's up.
Anyone else ever notice a change in engine noises or have a loud 2.5L?
You can hear the high pitched whine better in the 2nd video.
