I opened the hood this morning and noticed that one specific part of the engine is super dirty (see pictures below). The dirt is limited only to the section marked in the picture, other parts of the engine look like brand new. My neighbor thought that it was painted but I could remove part of it with a towel. For those of you with a hybrid engine, could you please check and see if your engine looks the same? I am wondering if there is any leak which causes this. In the same time I think I there would have been a leak it would have not been limited just to that area and we would have seen the dirt in the other areas next to it. Either way, I think it is way too dirty for a truck with only 3500 miles, which are probably only done 2000 with the gas engine. Any thoughts and ideas would be highly appreciated.

Ok, going by the second picture, your concern is the matte black coating on the timing cover side of the front motor mount (the part held in w one nut in front by the intake and 2 nuts in back towards the exhaust)?

If that's what you're thinking of, it's just coating on the aluminum motor mount bracket and nothing to be worried about. It's not a fully painted part, but that portion of the mount gets a rubberized coating before getting mated to the body side of the mount.

Bro you need to chill out. Engine bays get dirty regardless of miles or brand. Honestly the pics you posted don't look that dirty. They look normal for an engine bay with that mileage.

Wow, It is dirty.

Every time I wash my vehicles (yes, I never go to a car wash), I start by washing the outside and hand drying it. I always get around to open the hood, take a damp rag and wipe down the underside of the hood and all around the engine compartment I can easily reach. About once a year, I start it for 3 minutes, cover sensitive wire joints and spay with a cleaner/degreaser then hose off (no pressure washer) and blow dry with a leaf blower. My 2016 Prius with 60K miles is cleaner than your engine bay. My Maverick is too. We don't drive on gravel roads either (never really need to).

From what I see in your pictures it looks pretty normal for a new vehicle that never gets the motor area wiped down. If it bothers you, do what I do.

Is this a serious question or are you trolling? That's normal. Please don't waste your dealer's time bringing this to them.

This guy is going to have an aneurism when he does his first oil change and sees the kind of dirt, sand, road tar and possibly dead animals that are collecting in the underbelly engine pan.

*First Off to the OP Sylvester… I think everyone is being a tad harsh… I understand having a new awesome truck… maybe new to design and Ford set … also, it’s ok to ask these questions! I at first didn’t see what you were concerned with, then I saw it… your engine mount is what has the dirt and oil/grease/tar looking coating on it! Many if not most mavericks *especially the 2.0 ecoboost which can be seen more clearly, in this area, have a nice new shiny metal engine mount. I will post my picture below. It has been this way since delivery. I am having it checked again when my mav goes in for the numerous issues afoot… 12v service warning, clicking/ticking windshield, Radio not updating and locking up, fuel lines rattling. Anyways I too think the mount may need a replacement or it’s just a messy install of the components and mount.
Best of luck’ I will update as I know more.
