Just curious if anyone does this as a sideline, or am I crazy? I tried it this weekend a little.

Live and learn, so I'd say the opposite of crazy. How do you know if you don't try?

Ideally, I'd think an older economy car (5+ y.o.) might be a better option than Maverick but at least you'll learn something about the rideshare business.

No, I'm very particular about people riding in my truck. Both of my sons did it. One of them had a passenger puke in his car. The other had a rider spill a 32 oz soda. Nope. Mine is spotless on the inside and it will stay that way.

I help different florists with deliveries during holidays. They always need help. Did it yesterday and doing it today for valentines. I drove 41 miles yesterday at 51mpg (all city). Made 11 deliveries @ $10/per, plus was given 10 for gas. Today I'll do 15+.

I think the hybrid Mav is an excellent choice for delivering things, doordash, ubereats, instacart, etc., but I don't think its right for moving people.

Back seat is cramped for ride share.

Better than several Ubers I've been in. Sliding the passenger seat forward helps a lot.

I do door dash and while doing it a lot of it is in electric so I don’t use a lot of gas. It just adds up miles but what are miles. I won’t do ride share as you never know who you will get in your vehicle.

I towed for 23 years, and we never knew who we were out to meet or have ride along either. I'm not that worried about it.

Ford Maverick Anyone Do Uber, Lyft, Doordash ETC. with their Maverick? IMG_7896
I’ve been driving my 2023 XLT Hybrid for 12 months. I took delivery January 2023 and have added 38,000 miles on it in the first year. The Maverick is always a topic of conversation with my riders. If you plan on driving for Uber or Lyft, I would recommend adding seat covers and a tonneau truck cover for rainy days to protect luggage. I have over 3,000 rides working part time in the last 12 months in the San Diego area. Average about 37mpg on Falken Wildpeak AT 245/R65 17 tires a much smoother ride than the continentals. Plenty of leg room for the riders. Overall, a great ride for Rideshare.

I signed my Maverick up as a second vehicle for Uber and Lyft when I first got it, and did use it for a couple days while my primary vehicle was in the shop. It can work, but luggage and groceries end up in the open bed, which isn't great. But now for some reason Uber has restricted the Maverick to deliveries. I haven't bothered to complain about it. Lyft still has the Maverick available for passengers.

Chicago market allows the Maverick for passengers. I added Mabett vinyl seat covers, And just got a Flated topper. Trifold would probably be better though.

Update. I also bought a trifold tonneau. I use the Tri fold for rideshare, and will use the Flated topper while towing the camper trailer.

I averaged 48.7 mpg Sunday, and 49.1 over 5 hours today. All heavy traffic.

Flower delivery would not be bad. Actually there's a local florist who always needs help on busy days. Food delivery doesn't pay as well, and tends to stink up the truck. The few times I've used instacart for delivery, I felt sorry for the driver. Shopping at Costco and getting through the lines is a pita. That's what I used it for during the 2020 shutdown.

I don't work past 10PM, so rarely get drunks. I did pickup a couple from a bar last night at 9pm, who were only going .8 of a mile for $5 fare. Got a $3 tip, for $8 total so it was a nice 3 minutes.
