Selling these May come , if interest is good .would like to work out the new crossmember with a 3” -3 1/2 “ lift built in and possible wider arms with new axles .
will have to see . May do crossmember, arms ( stock width) , stock tremor axles, and an adapted long 2 1/2” coil over with internal bypass. Will see how the flat out 2” ones last once I get the spring rate optimized and beat on them . First outing going to be here at San Diego off road coalitions , plaster city east clean up.
I’ll be running this one , all volunteer , come out ,day ride , we are non profit for keeping public lands public for all uses.
Free food and drink , Ill be bbq guy for lunch too

Thanks for sharing Brian!! Your outing sounds like fun, if it were around here my son would happily tow in his smoker to help :p
Could you explain how the Tremor axles differ from the FX4?

Almost an 1/8 thicker , not sure of the actual cv portion but compared to the hybrids I have seen broken they have a larger count and size on the cv balls.
like I said I would like to adapt a 930 style used extensively on buggies out here as polished chromoly cages and balls are easy to get and individually replaceable .
plus the angles and torque loads this stile can take is incredible.
guys running turbo v8’s on paddle tires in the sand with 20“ of up and down wheel travel with these.

I haven’t sized up the fx4 ones yet , do know the tremors are bigger as part of the 2900 package ,that’s 1/2 the reason I bought it , that and the rear locker and skid plate , which may get changed anyway

Thanks for the reply.
Ford saying the axles and spring/struts are upgraded and providing no further info besides a slight lift is a big tease to me.

This is AWESOME!!! I was considering how to go about something like this, and thos is much simpler than my see if a Mustang front subframe would mount in. Those A-arms will be a real trick these do pretty well off road but the articulation leaves a bit to be desired. I have the Rough County 2" kit with the struts, and 265/65/17s with stock wheels on my 4k. It looks better but I can't say the articulation is noticeably improved.

yea i would contact one of those CV axles companys that sell aftermarket ones to see if they make one for lowered mavericks i think they have too much angle maybe making them shorter? and more stronger

Haven’t moved anything yet , going to plan some changes with the crossmember ,like you said and then choose width change too ,probably about 3 “ wider per side on the arms , but have to determine if inside mounting pivots are going to stay or move , depends on what I can come up with for axle solutions . Would really love to adapt to 930 cv‘s with a 300 m axle , bulletproof and can take massive angle. Haven’t sat down with an axle maker yet .
just going to optimize what I got and then work on the width , but a forward push would be nice , about an inch would clear the 33’s planned . Right now at 32” muds and little trim but still a little rub.
Seems like you got it all planned out well up front. Im sure there is a way to change that radius arm plate out back into something a bit more solid. It does appear to be a flex/stressed member though, so Im not sure if changing it to a jointed arm will make the rear end too loose. I suppose if you lower the whole rear assembly and put together a different radius arm a beefier sway bar could keep things happy back there with more travel and clearance.

I know we are on the 3rd year of these trucks and you operate on different funds than I do, but I sure am glad you have stepped up and started doing the things that I would be trying to sort out 10 years from now when the Maverick hype all gone. The truck world is a better place for having someone like you willing to breathe a little of the extreme into what alot of the truck builders out there think of as a sedan missing a trunk lid. Even though these are pushing 4000lbs they are still light for todays standards. People forget how awesome a light offroader is. Once yours is finished, people will see.

Sneak peak , all chromoly.

Get to see what kind of travel can get out of stock pivots without the factory bushings adding to spring rates at top and bottom of travel . In other words just coil over spring and adj dampener.

Plus 3” spacer kit going in this week

Something tells me this build is gonna be pretty awesome.

Yeah the lightness of the package with the efficient driveline makes it perfect , just need to strengthen, lengthen a few things while keeping the weight in check as much as possible .
It’s like an online r and d board for the blue oval boys. Gotta make something everyone will like and learn from!

I do believe the rear , especially the trailing arm has some need for improvement too. But that’s after front gets sorted to my liking . Gotta start cutting for bumpers too. Finally got a real plan on that .

Yep the front is gonna take the hardest hits, so first things first. I think there is some good spots for the front bumper. With the all the rear impact issue from crashes. I wonder if boxing around the rear "rails" might be needed. If you ended up with a caged setup. That could all tie in nicely and stiffen the whole chassis. Love to see what you come up with. When my wife is ready for a new daily driver then I will get to copy all your hard work!
