Car wash L button

Anyone have experience running the Mav through a car wash where you have to get out of the car to run it down the track? The L button would need to be pressed to keep it in neutral. I am not sure if the attendants would know how to do this. Or if this feature where it goes into park when you open the doors is used on many other makes or models. There is one car wash I like where they wash it by hand as it runs down the track. So far I have only used a touch less where you sit in the car.

I still don’t understand this. First time it popped up I was like what L button.

There is a button in the middle of the shifter labeled L. If you put the car in neutral then press the L button. The car will then remain in neutral if you open the door. Without pressing this button the car will shift to park when you open the door. It may have other features but not sure about those.

I had the same thing happen to me , I had it in neutral and the truck jumped the track ( this was the first time going to a car wash ) The attendant told me to press the L button., everything went ok. I,m not sure if this info is in the owners manual .

The attendants will understand.
The attendants do see this in other cars.

Also, even if you are ALLOWED to get out of the car, you are not REQUIRED to get out of the car. Stay with it if you are more comfortable.

Truck Guy , I tend to agree with you . The car wash I go to ( when I don't wash it myself ) knows me as a regular customer , I have taken my wifes car to them for years , We are on a first name basis .
The car wash ( lacy's ) is in Garden City ,Mich. on Ford Rd. , . They are extra careful with my truck .
Plus I tip them good . LOL

In hybrid you can push the L (LOW) button at any time at any speed primarily for driving on steep slopes. It maximises Regen (100%) braking without you using the brake pedal and when HVB gets to around 72% soc will activate Engine braking. I use my L button to max Regen brake from 50-60-70 mph to slow down for a turn even without a steep slope. It will activate engine brake and/or hydraulic brakes as needed. Engine braking from speed can be quite loud so don't be too startled. It has its uses but as manual states continual use may affect mpg. Just try using LOW in slow speed stop and go traffic almost like one pedal driving. It should minimize your use of hydraulic braking and use engine braking when HVB starts getting charged.

I used the 'L' button all the time on my Maverick for slowing, actually saw 130 MPG in stop and go traffic!
Just be aware that the brake lights are not illuminated when using regen braking.
I think it's basically the same as the 'B' mode on a Prius.

I know the L button and I have been to car wash twice but had never had to push it. I just put the shifter on N and it continue to run on the tracks. I stayed in the truck the whole time.

For 2023 Maverick, Page 183 (starting page) of owners manual discusses how to use L button to put the Mavetick in neutral.
