I've had the truck since October and have slowly been plugging away at small things to make it exactly what I want. Just finished up installing an engine cover (was the Lincoln one, but solved that with a $5 logo from Amazon), and the Buschur's intake. Love the new intake and can hear the turbo a bit more.

Along with that, just a quick rundown of everything I've done so far to the truck (more for my own recollecting so I've got it all in one place for future reference). Definitely going for more subtle, especially with the exterior touches.

- new tires (Vredestein Pinza AT in 245/70r17)
- new wheels (Sport Terrain CV-1 from tirerack.com)
- leveling Kit (1.75" from fordrangerlifts.com)
- folding hard bed cover (Backflip MX4)
- trailer hitch cover (Amazon)
- hood deflector (EGR from Amazon)
- hood struts (DeeZee from Amazon)
- full window tint (including high UV on the windshield)
- start/stop eliminator (4dTech from Amazon)
- Buschur's intake
- Steeda blow off valve
- exhaust updated to give more ground clearance (removed the exhaust from the rear diff back and dumped it out in front of the diff)
- engine cover (was the Lincoln one, but swapped the logo)
- shorty antenna
- full LED exterior bulb swap (Lasfit)
- new floormats (Tuxmat from Canada)
- storage mats (under rear seat - Mabett)
- center console organizer (Amazon)
- new seat covers (Mabett from Amazon)
- wireless Apple CarPlay adapter
- full speaker swap (Alpine S2 front/rear)

In the future I'd love to add a powered hideaway sub behind the rear seat, a wireless charging pad in the center console where the Lariat's is, and the Raptor-style grill with the amber lighting. Slowly getting there though, but am really happy where the truck is at currently.

does the engine cover help with the "sewing machine" noises?

You know, I didn't notice much of a difference yet ... but it's also midday and warmer, most of those noises I hear first thing in the morning when it's cold. I'll give it a listen tomorrow am and let you know.

I can't imagine it making a HUGE difference, for me it was more the aesthetic of cleaning up the bay.

Where'd you get the engine cover from?

I haven't seen the underside of the ford/lincoln engine cover but some other vehicles have foam or fabric sound insulation underneath them and those ones do make a noticeable difference in sound. It could be worth adding some, just make sure it's heat and fire resistant.

You know it wasn't a huge difference when I started up this am, but it was quieter than previously without the cover. Not enough difference where I'd say buy if you're only looking for sound deadening though. I wanted more aesthetics, which this definitely is. If you're looking for sound deadening, there's a lot of stick-on options that you can cut to fit for the bottom of the hood.

I did some digging and it looks like the engine cover is foam so I can see that changing the pitch, if not the volume of the engine noise.
Regardless, I think it looks much better and I'll be adding one to mine.

I do like that engine cover! I'll bet it cuts down on the injector noise a little to.
