Hello folks, I'm new here. I have a 2024 Cactus grey XL hybrid with sprayed in bed liner and trailer hitch on order. I ordered it at 8:00 on July 17th. I don't have a build date yet. Am I likely to take delivery by May or June? I have the chance to buy a 2024 white XL without the bed liner and hitch from another dealer for MSRP + tax + $433 in fees. Should I pull the trigger or be patient and get the color and options that I want? I had my heart set on the cactus grey, but white would be my second choice anyway.

I think only you can answer this for yourself.

I originally ordered white, changed my mind to Cactus Gray, and I'm happy I went with it. White looks good on fleet vehicles but I personally don't like it as much on a bare truck.

The truck that you ordered has two things that are going to make it close to impossible to get by May the Hybrid and XL. If you found one and you can live with the color then I would go for it. If not sit back because most likely you are in for a long wait unless you get lucky.

I waited 13 months to get the exact XLT Luxury package I wanted. Personally, I think it is worth waiting to get what you want, unless you think an XL hybrid will not be built.

Buy the white one now and keep your order for the grey, if it turns out you don't like the white when the grey finally comes in you can sell the white one. if it turns out that you like the white one then you can let it be built and delivered to the dealer and then just pass on it, the dealer want care they will have one on the lot they can sell.

Any thoughts on how long the wait could be? I was hoping that since I got in early, my dealer has the allocations and the order banks are still open, maybe I had a chance of getting it in less than a year.

I waited 17 months for my 24 hybrid xl in hot pepper red. If you can wait i would but you probably won't get it by may or june.

For a $5,000 ADM.

you can get a spray in anywhere at anytime, if you really need the hitch then you'll be paying about $500 to get it installed if not done during the build. I would say as long as you're good with it being white then go for it and enjoy it. If you are hesitant about the color then I'd wait but...keeping in mind that you might not be getting anything at all. Overall - I'd say go get it.

Thanks everyone, my guess is that once I see and drive it I won’t walk away. At this point I have never even been close to one, let alone drive one. Who knows!, I might hate it.😛

Did the dealer indicate if they had enough allocations to likely be able to fulfill your order? Mine confirmed they had the allocations and my Hybrid XL was just built (23 carryover re-ordered last July and scheduled to build on 1/29). I'm now hoping for quick shipping.

Please make sure you update this thread with what you decide. I agree with those who suggest you buy it, drive it, and decide whether or not you trade it when your Retail ordered one comes in. I think the only feature which might cause hesitation is the lack of the hitch with the trailer wiring. If this is not a true requirement, the only thing holding you back is the color.

As for me, I like the white and I am not a fan of Cactus Gray (but my son is -- that is the color of his 2023 XLT Hybrid).

Hold out for what you want. If you don't, human nature says that you will spend the rest of your days saying, "Damn, if only..."

I doubt that I’ll have regrets over the color, which is the only real difference. The dealer does Line-X bed liner in house and they might even have it done before I get there tomorrow. Adding the hitch doesn’t look like brain surgery. I think as long as I like the way it drives and I can work the numbers, I will pull the trigger. Luckily for me, my wife wants me to have it more than I do(maybe to shut me up about it).
