I’ve seen a few members having issues with shuddering, vibration, shaking. I have about 10k on my hybrid XL and have noticed some of those issues and a new issue pop up with the engine and hybrid motor seeming to be locking up together like the dampener is sticking?

engine sounds like it is revving up? I will attach a video.

Thoughts?

To my knowledge the ICE only runs with the vehicle stationary (in normal mode) if it's charging the HVB or to warm up to provide cabin heat. Does yours engine always run with the truck stopped? From the videos it seems to be revving higher than necessary. Can't see an association with the dampener.

Dealer time?

Cheers.

Engine will cycle with truck stationary. Will shudder when going from ICE to hybrid modes.
scheduled to see dealer this Friday (soonest they would see me).
thanks for your input.

I had my damper replaced. It was dragged out for quite some time. They removed the engine and transmission to get to it. Good luck.

Cool. I’m bringing my truck in tomorrow so they can at least look at it. I think it’s that as well. It’s the only thing that would make sense

Curious if you ever got this repaired. I'm on my 2nd Hybrid Maverick (1st one was a 2022 XL - the one I currently have is a 2023 XLT) and just had the check engine come on the 2023 with 2,000 miles on it. Took it in to the dealer right away (and laid the law that they better fix it as my 22 had a check engine light on for months and it was never repaired). Got the call today - they're replacing the engine damper. The guy who called claimed it was only the 3rd one that had ever been done in the country.... curious if that's the case.

FWIW there was also a PCM recalibration TSB

Hi all!

Some 2023 Maverick vehicles may exhibit a shudder or vibration when the vehicle is braking at 15 mph or below, when the gas engine shuts down and the vehicle is operating in electric mode only. This may be due to the software in the powertrain control module (PCM). We've recently released TSB-23-2209 which instructs Ford dealers to install revised software into the PCM to resolve the engine shudder concern. This TSB only addresses 2023 MY, however we are finishing testing for 2022 MY and will re-publish the TSB at that time. The dealer will need to inspect your vehicle to diagnose the concern and determine if your issue is related to this TSB. As a reminder, you can find more TSB information for your VIN, make and MY at https://www.ford.com/support/ and https://www.ford.ca/support/?gnav=header-support. Please let us know how your Maverick feels with the new software.

NO. NOT TRUE. More than three that I personally know of.

May be three at that dealership or that part of the country.

Wait. What country are you talking about?

I'm up in Bellingham, Wa (USA). I figured that wasn't true when I did a quick search and i bugs me to no end when dealers/makers make claims like this - which is why I was checking

Yes. Software update fixed the issue. Runs great now.
