Turn headlights off

Is there anyway to turn headlights off. When I start the truck, it turns On to auto?

It always defaults to auto when first started. If you want them off after starting, you have to physically turn the switch to off each time.

I've seen threads on this site about a tool called FORScan. With the right wiring, app, and a Windows laptop, you can adjust many of the computer settings on the truck. I do not know if this is one of those settings, but do some searches and be prepared to read a LOT of threads!

Not without reprogramming, possibly with FORscan.(?)
You can turn off the DRLs.
The user manual tells how to do it.

So the headlights will always be on during daytime too on a sunny day? if I don't turn it off after every start? What a way to burn the led bulb. Also, I see there are 3 compartments (lack of a better word) and the furthest out is low beam, middle high beam? what innermost for?
Guess I need to read the manual now..

Just turn off DRLs. It’s a setting. Check the manual.

Can also turn off auto high beam too (I did that as well).

If parked in garage when starting headlights will turn on due to the sensor seeing low light conditions. Just keep mode selector in auto.

Watch this video you don’t need to have for scan to shut off your lights. You can do it from your menu dashboard on the truck.

That's not what "auto" means. In auto mode, the light sensor takes control of when to turn the headlights on & off while driving. They will not be on during a bright sunny day.

Reading the manual is always a good idea.

What on earth do you want the headlights off for? They're going to outlast the vehicle by a lot of years, and even in the brightest sunlight you actually need to be seen against the background. Turning them off was maybe a thing in the 70's, but not today.

In some jurisdictions they are required to be on by law (statistically they reduce daytime accidents) and if you have a newer vehicle and they are not on in these jurisdictions you could get undesired attention by the police or local Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Officials.

I believe in Canada lights have to be on at all times.
