After placing an order for a 2024 Maverick EB-AWD back in early December, I decided to cancel my order and get a 2024 Ford Ranger instead. Wish I could keep my 2022 Maverick AND get the new truck, but hubby wants to keep his F150 rather than take over the Maverick.

I'll be putting my Maverick up for sale at some point in the future but can't let it go until I have the new Ranger.

If anyone is interested in my 2022 EB-FWD XL Maverick, let me know. It has been much loved and never dogged, all maintenance and recall work done, never smoked in. Will probably put a new set of tires on all fours before selling.

I ordered a Ranger but the price tag made me think twice - and it still hasn't been built yet.

A 2024 Ranger Lariat with x-plan pricing was going to run me $49,600 - more than $18k more than my Maverick for the same sized interior (albeit "nicer") and a 2.3L and 10spd (no 2.7 available, no 4A) but it does have a mechanical rear locker.

Overall - the lack of 4A and massive price difference let me know it isn't the truck for me.

4A likely doesn't matter to you in FL and coming from a FWD Maverick, and if you can afford it - go for it!!

I ordered my Ranger pretty bare bones. I don't like my rides to be overly complicated and always drove LX versions of Hondas until jumping to Ford. (Wish I could get the Ranger in a stick-shift.) The price difference between ordering an upgraded Maverick and a Ranger was maybe $4K. For my future travel plans, I decided to just get the Ranger since it has the higher towing capacity.

$49,600 would have made me stop in my tracks as well. I know everyone is anxious to get their Ranger Raptor, and yes...it's quite the looker. I have no need for a ride like that.

Nice, if you can get out for that then go for it!

Was the 24' Maverick an XLT AWD? Looks like they start around $30,130

A 2024 XL Ranger 4x4 starts at 36,315 with an XLT going for $39,595

Yes, I ordered the 2024 Maverick as an AWD with the 4K tow package. With the higher tow capacity in the Ranger, I won't need a 4X4. Handy to have, yes, but really unnecessary in FL.

Gotcha and understood. AWD needed to get to 4K for towing.

Pretty awesome you could slide up into the Ranger for minimal upgrade. You've been a great member here, stick around long enough to tell us how the Ranger is! Or maybe I'll check in on Ranger6G now and again.

Thank you, I appreciate your kind words! I'll definitely stick around and be a continued lurking member, because I'll forever be curious of future changes in the Maverick.

I'm going to have to admit that "my husband is right" (cue the applause for all husbands out there) when he said that once you've driven a truck, you don't want to drive anything else.

In ordering the Ranger, I'm finally giving into my inner teenager who always wanted a truck. Once upon a time, I was one of those tree-huggers who drove the smallest, most economical cars possible. I'm old enough to remember sitting as a wee tot in my mom's car (a VW) back in the early 1970's waiting in line for gas.

I considered the hybrid version of the Maverick when I first ordered back in 2021, but the salesman discouraged it for the lengthy wait times. I feel for those MTC members who waited so long only to have their orders bounced to the next year or had to give up altogether and buy something different.

Waiting this time for the Ranger will be a cake walk. I know the phone call will come in the future, and I'll be ready.

Ford earned a new customer with me through the Maverick. I gave up 24 years of Honda ownership to become part of the Ford family. My 2022 Maverick has been a joy to own, and I'll be sad to part with it. But I'm hoping someone from this forum buys it and loves it as much as I do.

The MTC has been a source of never-ending information. Definitely sticking around!

Ha ha ha:) when I wanted to order her her 2022 Maverick AWD XLT she said "I don't want a truck" my wife after driving her truck for a month "I'll never went a car again, just trucks. Not your F-150 size, but a truck" we picked hers up on December 20th 2021, she has 25k miles on it.

I think the Ranger XL (STX) is the best looking trim and best value offered. No textured bumpers or cladding either.

Congrats and best of luck, post up some pics when it arrives! I think you did the right thing. I miss my 2019 Ranger every day. Still kick myself for getting rid of it.

I do like the XL Ranger. 4x4 With the locking differential. And door key pad. I was considering it. At a price around 38K. However the good with the Maverick was the rear sliding window and heated steering wheel and seats. moon roof. All of these options have a utilitarian purpose for me I wish I had the option to get some of them with the XL package. Still thinking about it. An after market remote start would help with the cold weather. If available.

As a former NY'er (but a born and raised Floridian) I approve this message!

That rear sliding window is handy to have! I needed a 10x12 piece of vinyl flooring for a project which wouldn't fit in the Maverick bed and I didn't want to bend it in half, so I shoved it through the slider window. First time I actually used it! Sadly, not an option on the XL Ranger.

Congrids, I will be looking forward to your Ranger experience. The local dealer here in mid NH has discouraged ordering a Mav. My F150 needs to downsize but the 4k is barely enough. As much as I would like the smaller truck I am also tending towards the Ranger, at least when things become easier to actually buy.

The 4K is useful for what I have now, but if I ever want to upgrade what I'm presently hauling, I'll need a bigger truck, hence my reason for canceling. Go big or go home!
