I'm surprised how much flack I'm getting here. The dealer in KY has been the only dealer that will only charge me MSRP, and not MSRP + several thousand dollars. So, because I didnt want to pay thousands more, we buy from him. Around my area, it has been difficult to find a dealer that will not overcharge.
That is the internet for you, bunch of faceless people that have no risk in dealing out crap.
I will say it all depends on your market area and your willingness to travel. You can probably score a pretty good price if you are willing to fly somewhere where the market is not depleted and pick one up.
I live in a market where there are 0 mavericks available on lot under msrp, if they can sell them for more why would they sell them for less?
I could travel 8 hours and get one which I hopefully like when i get there and see it then drive it home and paying state taxes again out of state registration fees and so on and so forth.
you have to do what is in your best interest, I ended up paying over msrp, but under what ordering a 2024 was going to cost so i felt satisfied.

Right now, I'd happily make the 12 hour trip if I could get my truck! I ordered an XL 2.0 Turbo with AWD September of 2022. Still no word on when I will get it!

When I signed an agreement in October 21 for my XL ( no money down) I received a promised $1500 discount from ford and a $1000 discount from the dealer.
when I took delivery ( finally) this last March I received my 23 Maverick xl hybrid for under $19.5k Out the door. Including taxes. Apparently the Maverick purchasing world has changed!
Stay on the dealer! They want your business.

One dealer 15 miles away had 7 Maverick's, but none had the tow package. I found an FX4, AWD, 100 miles away with an $800 incentive on it that the dealer received that day. I drove up and bought it $2000 under MSRP with the incentive and X plan. I have never heard of a dealer charging more than MSRP here in WI. Maybe we have a law against it.

That is over a year. I would suggest you go on www.ford.com and look at all the Mavericks out there. Find one you like, call the dealer to see if it is available, and pick it up. Look at the website every day because what you want might show up tonite. Call dealer in the AM and tell them you want to look at it and please do not sell it before you get there. That way you can also tell what kind of dealer it is if they sell a car you want to look at and tell them you want to purchase it. You can look at the window sticker online before you look at the car.

WOW.
I ordered my XL Hybrid the same time you did and got it over 3 months ago.

What does the Ford Marketing Center say about your order?

My ordered Maverick is just about ready for pickup but seeing how its a 12hr round trip drive I'm searching locally for a deal.

What I'm hearing from dealers is that its still Covid times. A person is LUCKY to get MSRP and I should EXPECT to pay above that for both new and used. They're also telling me from a salesperson's point of view there is no room for price negotiation as they make next to nothing when a Maverick is sold. We're talking around $300, if that, on a sale.

Is this just dealer talk, or do you all find this to be the case?
Perhaps on an absolute base model, but even then there's dealer holdback. The fact is there's dealerships with Mavericks sitting on the lots for more than a couple weeks, so getting the ability to negotiate should be possible unless the dealerships in that area are just being "asps." Yes, I said that.... Some dealerships are just greedy, money grubbing back-ends. It's not about selling a vehicle and establishing a customer relationship, but grabbing as much money today that you possibly can. Suck them in with flashing advertising(most beneficial is you have NFL players in your commercials) and claims, and soak the daylights out of them in the service department each and every time you can. Just be sure to keep telling them how much you donate to charity and care about them. There's a reason why automotive groups exists, it because they probably soaked the customer more than their local competitor -- and the bigger they are, the more they have probably soaked the customer.

BTW, I work at a dealership and can tell you, it's almost always about making more money now, not making money over the course of time -- but today. It's not about being financially stable, but assuring the owner has the funds to buy that third vacation home, a new Lambo, or whatever.... Even if the backend employees working salary end up, long hours for what ends up as less than minimum wage. Of course, the sales people who promise you the moon are always much better compensated than the ones doing the actual heavy lifting to take care of you. ....and no, I'm not overworked and bitter.... Just being honest on how I've seen it over the years.

I live by STL in IL. I went with Grainger. My local Dealer swears there would be no markup..... Just MSRP.
I placed my Order for an Ecoboost Lariat FX4, 4K tow, in the color I wanted and Tire and Wheel package I wanted on Dec 12th with the small dealer. Didn't hear jack crap other than Ford telling me that they received my order and look for another email 45 days later.

I figured what the hell; I called Grainger Ford and ordered an Ecoboost Lariat FX4, 4K tow, in the color I wanted and Tire and Wheel package I wanted on 26 December at 1435 PM. 100.00 deposit and 1000K off MSRP. I receive the same FORD email stating that they would email me in 45 days. I was like Okay... Same Same as my lil dealer. But With 1000k off.

I got a build date and VIN from FORD on Jan 4th at 0845. (HOLY CRAP!!!) Scheduled build date is week of 26 Feb 24. I would say that when a Dealer has capacity they get built. If they don't have the capacity; they get delayed and delayed and delayed. Call your dealers to see if they have the capacity to order. If they dont forget it and move on.

If Ford tells me that my truck from my lil dealer is gonna get built; it is a Win Win. My Son needs new wheels.

We are by no means "DESPERATE" for a Maverick,; I just want to stop killing my precios 2008 Crown Victoria that I so dearly love. She's only got 108000 and I want to make her last. If they brought back the Vics I would forgo the Maverick and Def order 2 Vics. They just RUN. Kid has my 2005 Vic, and Mom and Pos have my 2008 Marquis. the 2002 Marquis is a Spare Car for when we have Maint to do on the rest of the vehicles. Once I receive the Maverick I will be selling my 2002 Marquis CHEAP! So if you are looking for a Car (By No Means a Beater) lemme know; if you are in the area.

Only place I can check is with my local dealer. They say they have no information either. They have a few customers that have waited even longer!

I'm in MN and the 3-4 dealers across the boarder in WI all have $2-5K markups. I've been keeping my eyes out as more inventory is coming in. They still all seem to think markups are valid.

A dealer in Hudson WI is the one that added a $5K markup to a truck I had reserved when I went to pick it up. I walked away from that one.

What dealer did you go to?

I found an FX4 near Eau Claire, LaCrosse, and Portage. Portage is closest to Milwaukee, so I went there first. I am sorry I do not remember the names of the dealers in Eau Claire or LaCrosse. There was nothing within 100 miles of Milwaukee, so I searched the whole state. I get A plan, so the price is fixed, but I did not tell them that until they wrote up the sale and offered me shit on a trade in. There was no markup on the sticker, so they had to sell the car at MSRP. I wish I could tell you more.

I'm *able* to make the trip but also checking locally. Why drive further than I have to?
When we bought my first Maverick, it was from San Antonio… was $900 to have it delivered to our doorstep in LaCrosse, WI.

My dealer called today; it has arrived. I called my credit union and got my rate. Guess I'll be picking it up sometime soon. Aren't the mirror caps supposed to be body-colored on the XLT luxury pkg?
Well,,,, did you go get it?

Funny you should ask. I am currently in a hotel room in KY and in the morning I will drive the 2 miles and pick up my new.. pickup. I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling about this though given I am trading in my '22 Ranger. Might seem nuts. I don't trust the Ranger's transmission long-term and I think I will prefer a more car-like ride. I keep reading about Maverick problems on these boards but I remind myself this is where people go to complain and to find solutions; so of course we will read about problems here.

But before you start thinking I'm all pessimistic about this, I've already purchased an Escape digital climate control panel and a Lariat's 6.5" cluster screen. (and an armrest organizer and hood struts and floor mats and the Ford black hood deflector) I'm looking forward to those projects.
