Any reason to worry about taking my truck in for the transmission reprogramming recall and having it modified with forscan? Will it reset back to factory, change nothing or worst case will they void warranty? or am I paranoid lol

First of all, they cannot do a blanket "void" on your warranty. What they can do is refuse to repair something that you caused, such as by putting on a bigger turbo which breaks something in the drivetrain.

If you activate a built-in Ford parameter (with Forscan), or install a Ford part that is common to these vehicles (such as the cruise control on early XL models), it would be really hard for them to say that it caused something bad to happen. Not impossible, but unlikely.

That said, I am anticipating that someday the dealer will do some sort of update that will cause my Forscan mods to drop off. I will not expect them to notice or to restore these changes I have done, that is my problem.

Had the 23E09 emissions update done this week, no issues with the added cruise control or lane keep assist settings. What is the transmission recall?

Cheers.

I just had a batch of recalls done including something to do with the brake controller.

My drive mode additions were reset to factory settings.

I had the powertrain reprogram done to my Hybrid. Within two days the courtesy lights were not coming on when I opened the door and my phone was telling me remote start was disabled due to low battery charge. Took it to the dealer and after 2 days I was told the battery was only being charged to 17% above Dead. (Dead is 12 volts). Dealer changed programming to change to 100% on the 12v battery under the rear seat.

Wow and this was a recall software fix ford put out that you would naturally assume fully tested by ford Quality Dept. What a mess. They must have laid off their whole QA department on the last restructuring plan

So I took my truck in for 2 recalls, the 23E09 and the turn signal one. And yep, they reset all my Forscan changes. Not only that but ALL of my settings were back to factory, just my radio channels were saved. The recall updates seemed to only make things worse, my auto brake hold activated itself twice now without me pressing the button. So if your truck is running fine I would not consider having recall work done.

My friend has just taken his vehicle (23 XLT Hybrid) into the dealership to have this recall performed. He, like many of us, had added LED taillamps and when he got the vehicle back his taillamps were hyper flashing. Previously I had changed the settings in the BCM to stop the hyper flashing.

I had made several changes to various modules that he wanted. It appears that Ford only modified the BCM module. I just made the changes to stop the hyper flashing and, in addition, changed the battery charge from 80% to 95%. The hyper flashing immediately went away, so he is happy.

My question is this, since my Maverick has had several programming changes to various modules, is it necessary for me to have this recall performed if I am not experiencing any taillamp issues? Two concerns are: 1) maybe I am not aware of possible incidents of taillamps not illuminating all the time, and 2) would there be a warranty problem or other liability if I don't get the safety recall performed?
