Finding a 22-24 Lariat Hybrid cluster with less mileage than your truck has is going to be the hardest part, forscan only increases miles on the cluster.
Yes, it will work by just pluging it in but there are other modules in the truck that record the mileage so I wouldn't drive the truck unless...
I took the vin of a hybrid lariat with PAM from autotrader and used www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt to pull the data and flash my modules. I still had the DTC U2100 - Initial Configuration Not Complete. So I bought a used PAM from a bronco (same part number as mav). This used module did not...
The setup I have is a cluster from a 2021 escape hybrid that I copied over the forscan ipc from a 23' maverick lariat. Also, I did the little dance of disabling the warning for driver and passenger belt minder where you plug and unplug the belts a few times. I can't remember the procedure for...
Get a 6.5" cluster from a lariat or escape hybrid. I found one from a 2021 escape hybrid on ebay for $80, worth every penny to get rid of that obnoxious "Press OK". But be sure to get one with mileage less than you have because forscan can only increase it on a swapped cluster.
Sure! I am using Forscan 2.4.10 beta. After connecting the PAM module I did a fresh scan of the truck, you have to click 'no' when it asks if you want to load a previous one. Then the park module showed up in my list to either do a firmware upgrade or change as-built data.
This was the as-built...
Thanks for the information and write up! Were you able to finish this project? I am also working on retrofitting park aid. I have it wired correctly and the truck sees the module. I programmed it with the settings from a lariat (I have a 23' XLT). I added park aid to the IPC and ACM, but the PCM...
I hate seeing the Maverick slowly become a $40-50k truck. The whole idea was to make an affordable truck that was great on gas and can run 99% of the errands most people do.
I do like techy stuff but hate when controls go touch screen in a car, I'm not going thru 3 menus and confirm screens...
For those with XL/XLT, the driver and passenger door and switch pack are relatively cheap at around $30 each so under $100 for all three. But the real undertaking is the wiring and harnesses used. Check out the wiring diagram pinned in the electronics forum.
Removing the original cluster and replacing it is a direct fit mechanically and electrically, same screws, connector harness, etc. There are tutorials on how-to. But what will be technical is using FORScan to configure it and correcting the mileage (FORScan can only increase) to match.
I came across a 2021 Escape hybrid at the junk yard and was hoping for the full digital screen but it had the 6.5". At $60 I decided to grab it anyway to see if it could even be a viable upgrade from the 4.2" since finding the full digital hybrid screen is a needle in a haystack and at $900+ new...
Firmware flashing is the only time I ever hook up a battery charger to my hybrid. You flash with the engine off and a charger hooked up because it can take 30min+. This is different from changing the config and requires the payed license.
So I took my truck in for 2 recalls, the 23E09 and the turn signal one. And yep, they reset all my Forscan changes. Not only that but ALL of my settings were back to factory, just my radio channels were saved. The recall updates seemed to only make things worse, my auto brake hold activated...
Any reason to worry about taking my truck in for the transmission reprogramming recall and having it modified with forscan? Will it reset back to factory, change nothing or worst case will they void warranty? or am I paranoid lol
