Low cost fender arches. Keep'em or lose'em?

Looks like some type of discoloration on them to me.

If they were a bit higher, like touching the beginning of the indent, they would work better visually I think. These are the 1.5" ones? Never noticed that the rear wheel indent is higher than the front. I do like them better than the ones that cover the indent like Mabett. Those make the stock tires look puny.

I think lose them. I’d wait for Mabett to increase production of theirs.

My old explorer has these plastic fender arches as standard trim pieces. it looks nice but the ones from that model year (02-05) all seem to get fender rust from water getting trapped in them. I had to cut out and bondo the right rear from it.

It's Rubber. You think it looks that bad? Geez.... There coming off.
Don't take advice from California or the southern states, haha. Different climate. Open the hood. Look carefully at the inside of the quarter panels. Is there sand and salt spray? OR...Are the fender flares helping to cover the gaps in the felt liners?

I have sand and salt on the inside of the quarter panels from small gaps in the felt wheel well liners. If these arches are helping, then keep 'em all day long. However, make sure they don't trap moisture as "Decayed" mentioned.

I believe their best use is to cover/prevent dings on your wheel arches. However, I don't think I would use them to prevent possible dings. IMO

It doesn't look discolored in person. But they are rubber, kind of like tire rubber. I like it one day, and not the next.
From the pics, they look so minimal and not all that noticeable that I think on or off there isn't much difference.

Full on 50/50.

Flip a coin. 🤷‍♂️

May look better on a different colored Maverick. They do blend in to much.
