Being stock, and driving like a grandpa has nothing to do with it. Stuff fails anyway. :ROFLMAO:
No of course. More what I was saying was, it wasn’t something self induced. I’ll check under the hood for lose/broken as I’m a tradesman so am semi-competent but not a car mechanic and certainly not trying to troubleshoot/repair

Take it out on the highway and drive it NOT like a grampa and blow the crap out of the engine. Get it warm then HOT and thrash it a bit. Maybe a 5-15 miles driving over the speed limit with some full throttle for good measure.

So you’re telling me on my 45 mile commute tomorrow to put in sport mode and HAVE FUN?

Yeah, id try that. Sometimes it just needs to get a good heating up if it is the o2 sensors.

Ok. I typically run it pretty conservatively as I’ve decided I don’t want to pay more on gas than I have to with a 90 mile round trip commute, but I can certainly open it up.

Don't go crazy, but full throttle merge on the highway with a little high speed running to heat up the exhaust and clean the O2 sensors. Hybrids are great for gas mileage, but not necessarily good for ICE engines and their parts as they don't work as hard under normal driving.

Yeah I wasn’t planning on being crazy at 5am just thinking I’d drive like everyone else. Lol.

^^^^ ... It is technically (and respectfully) referred to as a "red neck tune-up". o_O

my money's on a bad injector. Running lean heats up the cylinders, don't go running it hard.

As I’m not a car guy…
That sounds bad. I’m not planning on running it hard. Just not strictly cruise control speed limit.

I got this code when the mass airflow sensor was flaky on my Mazda 6.

You would get this code if you put E85 (85% ethanol) in the tank. MPG would also go down by 30%. But maybe 10-15% if you only added half a tank.

The nice thing is, it will all return to normal once you use it up and put in stronger gas.

I was about to say too, bad gas.
Years ago I had a Lexus that got lean codes. Turns out I put E85 when on the manual it says not to use E85, whoops. Paid for crazy amounts of Diagnostic time and even swapping parts, turns out it was bad gas for the car.

Probably not but on the more dangerous end could be a leaky injector or fuel line issue. I would definitely give it a good sniff under the hood for fuel smells and get it to the dealer soon.
