Easiest Truck Bed Lighting Option

I am very ambitious but looking for the easiest option to install.
Have a 2023 XLT Hybrid - retractable tonneau cover, Bed Rug
Would like to add "some" light to the bed for pulling a few larger items out occasionally so I do not need work quality or fancy options.

Any suggestions? Besides a flashlight in my mouth...?

The easy way would be to buy the Ford accessory bed light by lumens and have Ford install it.

But there is already power run to both sides of the bed by the tailgate I have seen posts where that is used to add a light. I used one of the power leads in the bed to add 2 12v power ports.

Battery powered, magnetic light. Could get one that doubles as a headlamp too.

I installed the Nilight led strips and wish I would have saved my time and effort and taken my own advice above. Strips are cool looking and provide great light, but are overkill if you only use them occasionally, and the power will time-out after a while - so you might open the tailgate and have zero lights if your truck wasn't just turned off.

I have a set of these USB-C rechargeable LED Road Flares Emergency Lights. They’re magnetic and have a hook as well.

Seems like the kind of thing I often realize after doing some more involved work. I have those blue HF freebie magnetic lights stashed all over the place, they are often invaluable. The hook + magnet option allows you to put them where needed. Love them in the engine compartment or under the car with me.

Based on what some said about the 12v bed power source turning off automatically. You could go the solar route if you park outside.

Solar panel could be mounted on the roof with some 3M command for easy none marking removal later.

I'd imagine if you park outside your battery would pretty much always be topped up.

well it’s not fancy but you said easiest. these are $1.79. LED with flip up hook. They were literally just giving these away at Harbor Freight the other day.

I took the niilight strip route but these look like great lights that would’ve saved me a significant amount of time.
