FAT32 isn't the only drive format supported. If the drive is over >32gb then exFAT is probably the better choice.

I guess if it says it in the book it must be so. I use fat32 unless i have individual files over 4gb in size. Fat32 is the only format that will work on my home smart tv.

Here is what I have done so far:
Base hybrid XL, Shadow black, rear manual slider, 360 safety package, and tow receptor from factory
I added:
1. Husky floor mats eco version, front fits fine and back is close, cut the hump on the black and use epoxy to reattach lower.
2. Herculiner bed paint
3. Truxedo soft roll up tonneau cover from Ford
4. Eye bolts in bed, 4 across top sides for tie down points.
5. RV Inno in-sut roof racks.
6. craven speed stuby. Took it off and put original back on as it killed reception and I still rock with the QFM96.

What's the trick for navigating music played from a USB? Can't do it while driving and if you have a lot of music on it, the screen is slow and it takes longer than a red light.

I haven't actually tried it yet in my Maverick. I listen to Pandora most of the time and I'm using the USB port for my Garmin Dash Cam. I just purchased a USB-C flash drive for the other port, and will try that. You may have a point because I've always just used a "random" access instead of trying to navigate it.

I have at least 800 CD’s loaded on ITunes over the years….but quit using CD’s in current auto yrs ago…A $20 flash drive will hold 500 songs, EASILY. Simply plug the Flash drive in the USB port and songs display on the screen. In my case I bought several 8 GB Flash drives for $2.35 each (AliExpress) and organized my Flash Drives by Pop, Country, and Classic.

Literally an hour ago copied 350 songs to a Flash drive in no more than 2 or 3 minutes. Once I get a Maverick i’ll play with radio can am accessories option, or CarPlay to verbally advance and search for music..on IPhone.

I assure you that once you start using Flash Drive(s) it is so much easier and faster to move to a next selection of music, versus a slow CD separate by Artist. Another advantage of Flash Drives is they never get scratched like CD's.

So I am new to they bikes. What is the deal with the factory accessory connector only having power when the motor is running. Is there a clean way around this so that the stereo speakers work when the motor is not running and the key is in the on position?

I did the music on thumbdrive thing for a minute, but I hated the fact that I was limited to changing music only when stopped. I have all my music on my phone, and can select what I want via CarPlay even while moving.

I just use the advance buttons on the steering wheel, or Browse option on the CarPlay screen...I find I'm much less distracted while driving using the Forward/Back buttons on the steering wheel...but mostly I have 4 or 5 little flash drives to store songs by type, Classic, Pop, etc. At lease 200 songs on a 1/2 Gig Flash drive, at $3 or $4 each Flash Drive. I mostly have Iphone plugged in for AppleMaps gps.

Start with a cover for the bed. (Tri Folds are easy to handle, and affordable). Next get a hood deflector to protect from getting chips. Tint your front side windows to your liking, add tailgate letters, and drip rails over the doors. All this cost less then $500. A dashpad also would prevent scratches, and glare from the sun. Lots of stuff for Santa to get you, if someone asks.

I need a CD player Installed somewhere. Yeah, I have hundreds of CDs. I could also use a tape player as well.

I'm wondering if a USB powered CD player would work ? I'm sure you can play tunes from a flash drive, maybe a USB CD player will work. My Maverick is supposed to arrive in a couple weeks and going to see if it works.

Same here. Have like 500 cds. got so many that sometimes I've forgotten I already have a certain CD and buy the same one again. Then I find out i already have it. Dammit! I just spent $20 on The last starfighter soundtrack off Ebay and then found out I already had it. Don't even remember buying it. Doh!

Anyways, I have an external CD disc drive that I plug into my USB port for my Windows notebook laptop, because, being a notebook, it doesn't have a built in drive. Wonder in you could plug one into the Mavericks USB and use it to play CD's? But yeah, if not you can just download songs on a USB flash drive and play it. I have a CD player in my 2018 Escape, but I can also plug in a flash drive and play songs off of it.

Test your USB disc player and let us know if it works. I was going to try that when I get my maverick.

I got my truck and tried the USB CD player and it didn't work. Phone works fine. USB drive is flaky. It connected and indexed the songs and played them. So I put 2 albums in folders and it didn't recognize them. Took them out of the folders and now saying no media is on the drive ???? Only had my truck 6 days. Going to fool around with it some more today.
