We've had our MY22 Hybrid Lariat for a little over a year now and today it did something It had never done before. The weather turned cold here and the mileage has gone down quite a bit, so I was using 'slippery' mode to see how it would preform, MPG wise.
I ran to several errands using slippery mode and I shut the truck off and went into each place.
On the way out of my last stop, I noticed the truck was in slippery mode and I had not set it. If I had absentmindedly set the mode it would have been my usual 4 jabs to set ECO mode. Sometimes I forget to set the mode and this was one of those times. However the truck was definitely in slippery mode for the ride home.

When I got home, I shut the truck off and started it back up. . . . nope it went to normal mode.

The truck has been completely great and we have not experienced any issues except the stupid dash rattle.

Joke if you want to, it will be funny to read them. . . . . but has anyone had this happen?

I was slipping all over to stores today. But when I re entered the fighter jet she was all normal.
Have you been drinking by chance? I'm not one to judge I just know from experience.🍻

Did you remember to turn the truck off? I sometimes forget to turn off my Prius with the push button. I’m glad my Mav will have a Key 🙂

I always shut the vehicle off before I leave it.

I bet you forgot to shut it off at the last stop. That said if you did it should have honked at you twice when you got out and shut the door.

nope, never happened to my 22 Mav hybrid…and it’s one of my minor issues with the vehicle…..but I also do the 4 jabs into eco mode.

For almost the entire month of November--my '22 AWD Maverick's Auto-shutoff-start stayed OFF, through many, many cycles of normal use and parking overnight, etc. It showed 'OFF' on the dash display with no input from me. Yesterday morning, when I started her up, it was back on (per normal). It was NICE while it lasted.

That's the most likely explanation in my opinion. Many people have turned off the double honk, myself included, but I don't have a hybrid and I have autostop disabled, so I would definitely notice if I got out of my truck and the engine is running.

I wouldn't 100% rule out the possibility of some kind of bug but I am 100% certain that it is not a feature of the Maverick to retain the last drive mode selected, it always defaults to normal.

BTW my Bronco will prompt to return to previous drive mode, but you have to hit ok within (approx) 3 seconds, otherwise it will return to normal mode. Maverick definitely does not do that.

Not at all what this thread is about... but since you mentioned it, your autostop was probably off because of low battery voltage. If you have Fordpass installed and configured I think you would be getting Deep Sleep notifications also - message will say 'remote features disabled'.

If you want autostop off just push the button, or buy an autostop eliminator, it takes less than 5 minutes to install.

I will definitely buy the autostop eliminator if it really is easy to install--I'm too old to be crawling under dashboards. Where we live there are STOP signs at nearly every corner for miles and miles--minimum six stops in any direction just to get out of our neighborhood. Rarely any traffic. But a full stop invariably shuts it off because I've forgotten to push the button. I really have a hard time believing it's saving any fuel with so many split-second OFF conditions. I actually like the autostop when driving in conditions where stops are more than a second or two long. I do have the Fordpass and use it. No messages from that app. In summer, here in Arizona's Valley of the (too much) Sun, the autostop-start feature is normally off because of the AC set on max, but we don't need that in November. Is Amazon the best place to shop for the autostop eliminator?
