What is the slot for?

Good morning y’all…can anyone tell me what the slot is for that is to the rear of the 3 buttons in the center console to the back of the area that the shift knob is in? I looked in the book, and found no answer

I had watched a Maverick review video and in that it was mentioned it was a slot to hold parking ramp tickets, etc.

It's a hidden printer that prints the receipts if you are financing.

It's just a random slot, perfect for filling up with dust and other stuff that you cannot possibly clean.

Marketing gimmick centered around the Maverick being an urbanites truck. It's supposedly there to hold a card for a parking garage as if anyone who is purchasing a Maverick could afford the monthly fees demanded by parking garages in large metropolitan areas.

Oh, oh, oh, given the direction this thread is headed already, I would like to change my answer, Alex.

It's actually a slot to hold your bus pass. Obviously, on eco boost Mavericks, it'll just stay empty.

...and to hold your credit card while you are waiting in long lines at the gas pump at places like Costco. I just picked up my '24 hybrid and noticed the slot too. My 2016 GMC Canyon had a slot to the left of the steering column for the same purpose. My '22 Mav 2.0 EB doesn't have the slot.

Thats actually a cool idea. I am sure there is enough room under there to install a receipt printer that uses bluetooth. Im sure someones buisness could use it.
