What is the slot for?

Good morning y’all…can anyone tell me what the slot is for that is to the rear of the 3 buttons in the center console to the back of the area that the shift knob is in? I looked in the book, and found no answer

ha ha ha Had mine for 2 years and never noticed. Thanks now I know!

It holds a Del Taco gift card. My Prius has a slot and holds one also

I use it to hold my Tim's card. Think coffee chain card. And parking stub, etc.

Have you tried doing a search of the forums? Whenever I do before starting a thread, it comes back with pretty much everything BUT what I want to ask about. And inevitably, someone pops up and says, “someone asked this question before, back in 2021 about the first maverick, do a search before posting”

If that were the case it would need to be a lot bigger.
I use to hold an ID card for easy access. IMHO a good use of otherwise wasted space.

Well I hope it is on the XL Ecoboost because the only reason I bought the truck was for this slot of undetermined meaning.

If you're in New Jersey and take the turnpike, that slot will hold your toll card. I put one under my visor years ago and it blew out the window. I had to pay full price of the toll from the furthest point to that stop.
