Maybe things are different with push button, but ignition needs to be on for computer diagnostics and the engine needs to be on to check the charging system, so, based on what @GPSMan said, your ignition was on for about an hour, there was idle time, bringing down your mileage, either a test drive or you drove it 3 miles from your first picture. As I said before, idling really brings down mpg, especially on a short trip of 12 miles.
i donāt have my maverick yet, but I can speak from experience with my Cruze. (1.4L turbo). If I reset my mpg monitor while driving it will show the 50ish mpg it gets when cruising at highway speeds, but as soon as I come to a stop light and let it idle, it drops really quickly to 20ish mpg. Eventually when driving for a while, it averages out at about 35mpg.
based on what you said, it makes total sense that it would have been in the shop and the diagnostics/post checks took about an hour total.
