Maybe things are different with push button, but ignition needs to be on for computer diagnostics and the engine needs to be on to check the charging system, so, based on what @GPSMan said, your ignition was on for about an hour, there was idle time, bringing down your mileage, either a test drive or you drove it 3 miles from your first picture. As I said before, idling really brings down mpg, especially on a short trip of 12 miles.
i don’t have my maverick yet, but I can speak from experience with my Cruze. (1.4L turbo). If I reset my mpg monitor while driving it will show the 50ish mpg it gets when cruising at highway speeds, but as soon as I come to a stop light and let it idle, it drops really quickly to 20ish mpg. Eventually when driving for a while, it averages out at about 35mpg.
based on what you said, it makes total sense that it would have been in the shop and the diagnostics/post checks took about an hour total.

You just put it into accessory mode and activated the parking brake to make it look like more warning lights are on. Nice try. šŸ˜

Do you pick up kids from school and are you one of those crazy people like my wife that waits for an hour to avoid waiting for 10 minutes?

How does the instrument panel goes from this:

To this:

Curious about the answer, thx...
I hope somebody on here gives you the answer! My instrument panel has a mind of its own. Sometimes it shows me the digital speedo. Sometimes it shows me some other information. Lately it is showing me a photo of my silver Maverick. On my Dad's new 1947 Ford, I understood every gauge on the dash. Both of them. The speedometer and the clock.

It could be a daylight saving thing. Clock set back gave you an extra hour.
