Priority code. Orders go into a pool, not a queue. Order date is largely irrelevant.
Exactly!! I always chuckle to myself when a member on the forum asks about making a change to their order but is scared it will affect their place in "line"

THERE IS NO LINE!! lol Ford doesn't give a crap about order date.

Dealers assign 10-19 for retail orders anything lower than 10 gets assigned by corporate. The only way to know if your priority code has changed is to either ask your dealer or sometimes customer service can tell you.
Funny you say that. Another member on here said MY23 that was the case for dealer assigning 10-19. Who’s correct?

Unless it was only for Model Year '23 rollovers, I know some were assigned as low as a priority 3 by the dealer this recent cycle. Ford upgraded most of those to a priority 2 before any MY '24 scheduling took place. For MY '23 that member was correct; dealers could only assign priorities 10-19.

Based on my experience. Buying a lottery ticket and ordering a Maverick have the same odds of winning.

If two Identical Mavericks are both ordered at the same dealer, one July 23 with a priority of 19. The second is ordered 2 months latter in Sept 23 but has a (Better) priority number 1 thru 10. Which truck gets built first, July or Sept ...?
Really a very good question. Maybe Tim Bartz can answer. I ordered in July 23 and was scheduled in August as were many non-rollover orders (mine is rollover). I would guess that once an order is scheduled it would take priority over future orders even at a higher priority. Otherwise, amongst all unscheduled orders the better priority would always be built regardless of the date of the order. Of course Ford could decide to delay a scheduled order.

Especially true if you're ordering a hybrid XL.

That was a special circumstance for orders that did not get full filled in the 2022 model year. Ford allowed dealers to put a PC of 3 on those orders so they knew they were roll over orders and not new orders.

This does not usually happen and was only available to roll over orders not new orders. You picked the exception not the rule.

It used to be that Ford would prioritize order date if a dealer has more than one buildable truck at that priority code. For most models, that is still the case. But the demand for Maverick meant Ford largely ignores the date of the order to ensure the assembly line is efficiently running and to meet parts supply. Plus, you have the case where dealerships received so many orders that needed to be put in you really couldn't say one truck was "older" than another from that same dealership.

If the order rate starts to slow down again, I can see a point where order date starts to matter again so the dude who ordered a truck three weeks ago would get priority over dude who ordered yesterday.
