Is the Jeep Gladiator a Maverick competitor?

Traded my Tremor for a Gladiator Mojave.....

No shade to the Tremor, mine had good build quality, it was spritely, and most importantly I was able to get what I paid for it. I just didn't like driving it, purely a personal preference.

I "built" a Gladiator on the Jeep site for fun to see what it would cost. Doing fairly bare bones as I did with the Maverick, the Jeep was about $38k. That's $15k more than I paid for my Maverick, but probably only $13k more than if I ordered my Maverick now.

Is the Gladiator considered Maverick's competition? It seems to be about the same price as the Santa Cruz. I always hear people talk about the SC when talking about Maverick's competition but never hear anything about the Gladiator. I think I'd love to have a Gladiator if money was no object. I love the looks of it and would probably enjoy the drive.

Anyone driven a Gladiator? What did you think?

I traded my Tremor for a Gladiator Mojave. Two entirely different classes of vehicles. While the Tremor was good quality, looked sharp and drove fine.....for me it just lacked any kind of fun while driving and frankly when I got in it I forgot I was in a truck....I guess to some that would be a plus but I just couldn't accept it...I really tried.

I owned a Gladiator Rubicon for 6 months, and HATED it! It got horrible gas mileage, rode like crap and just wasn't comfortable, to me at least. Traded it for my 22 Mustang GT and so glad I did. My Maverick, even lowered, rides way better and is more comfortable and of course gets way better gas mileage.

I see very little direct overlap between the two. Personally, if I were a little younger, I would have a white Sport with a hardtop.

A Maverick competitor is anything any potential buyer is considering other than a Maverick. It could be Corvette, or a Toyota Cross.

A good example of this is the large number of people trading in their Toyotas and Hondas for Teslas. Nobody would declare those vehicles as being in the same market segment - huge price difference. But guess what: they're competitors because actual buyers decided they were.

Nobody would say a Model T was a competitor to a horse and buggy, but it was.

Nobody would say the two door Bronco is a Maverick competitor. But for me personally it is. Soon as Ford releases an electric two door Bronco (Farley has hinted at it), I'm outta here.
