Yep I see that one almost every time I drive through Meridian. Their Fire Department actually has multiple Mavericks.

Edit - should have watched the video first. I thought those were Lariat wheels. But that really should have been an XL instead of hitting taxpayers with the bill for a higher trim level.

I sit on my town Finance Committee and it pains me to see that taxpayer money was used to provide a town employee a Lariat when an XLT would have worked just as well and an XL would have served the basic purpose for a lot less money.
Don’t think it’s Lariat, but does seem to have the BAP. I’m not opposed to public spending, I struggle when it’s wasteful spending though. Maybe an argument could be made that it’s about some sort of marketing.

edit - doesn’t even seem to have the BAP, just the BAP grill.

Yeah, I saw the XLT badge when I watched the video. But, as a FinCom member I would have wanted to know why the chief needed the XLT trim level for a vehicle that isn't intended for personal use.

All these city and state departments in Idaho gotta spend their budget surpluses somehow I guess. Can't have the XL poverty trim level parked outside city hall 40 hours a week........:ROFLMAO:

Maybe you would have liked a base 150 for more than $40K?

You also couldn’t get fx4 package in the xl which this one has (as seeing’s the tow hooks), or could’ve been on the lot and didn’t order?

Curious how you got that from the fact I want them to spend no more than is absolutely needed. I had this conversation this budget cycle with the police department when they wanted to buy a new car for the detective. I asked them why they couldn't give her one of the retired cruisers. I just want the town department heads to look at taxpayer money like it matters.

I guess maybe in Idaho that might be justified. It wouldn't be in my town, since we don't need more offroad capability than the AWD would provide.

Heck, Chief Boden drives around in an Explorer PI,,,,,,,, Surely more expensive than a Maverick.

Rather than automatically assuming the city screwed up, why not ask "how was the decision made to buy this truck?'; and then if they appear to being loose with the city's $$, go after them. Maybe just maybe there was a good reason. Have a nice day!!
