This all depends where you live. First 35 years of my life lived in Saginaw, MI, got by with just All-Sesson radials, but lived in areas with good snow plowed roads. Then for 21 years lived in Traverse City, MI. I had a 2.5 mile trek every morning getting out to the highway on my way to work. The roads were not plowed yet since I left for work around 5:30am. I had FWD cars and there were many mornings I never would have made it to the highway with just All-Season radials. Snow tires are a must in many parts of America and Canada.
Sitting in Saginaw Michigan as I type and agree with your post. I know it's a big think in the UP.

The OP’s pictures clearly showed a siped winter specific tire.

Some people here have no idea what they are talking about.

And yes, winter specific tires work much better in slippery winter conditions than aggressive off road tires.

20 years in Alaska proved that fact to me. I even used studded off road tires for a while in the winter there. Switching to winter compound rubber was a revelation.

Some people here have no idea what they are talking about.
Very much agree, I live in BC Canada and work year round on a ski resort, my commute is a 2500ft elevation gain over 8 miles with a max grade of 12%, winter tires are a legal requirement here and without them I would not be getting to work. I got caught out one year in my old Audi S4 in a late May snowstorm after I had switched back to summers, not a fun drive home that evening. People who think they can get away with All seasons in the winter are happy to come try out my morning commute in mid January at 5am before the roads plowed.

I’ll be fine with my stock setup. If it’s dicey I sit by the fire. If it’s an emergency it’s all about driving skill. Your mileage may vary.

Been there, done that. Even to the point of chaining up the old GMC. But I’m a dinosaur. Breckenridge back when there was one traffic light in town.

Maybe it's just my 1st cup of coffee kicking in, but every picture in this thread is 1000% better than anything (color caption/quality-wise) Ford has on their website!!! Stang89 + RayRay's Area 51 both pop on my MacBook screen...

Thanks for the compliment on my truck. I just went through the car wash with it and paid extra for having the crew do a really extra wiping it down and giving a good shine, then pulled into the next lot and positioned it a best as possible with the sun hitting it. Like everyone says here, It’s a great F.50 truck 😂😎but really it’s a great ride and I’m glad I decided on this one instead of the Honda Ridgeline.

Seems like most people that have ran both KO2's and the AT3W's in snow report the KO2's being subpar.
I was very happy with my AT3W's last winter....of course they were brand new in December, we'll see how they do this winter with 20K on them. But generally, for an AT tire, the winter performance is solid. Here in Ohio we get everything from slush, to ice, to nice dry powder. Slush & ice are the real tests.

I've driven in mid-Michigan for over 35 years. I've never gotten snow tires, just kept the all-season radials. That goes for RWD, FWD, AWD and 4WD that I have owned over the years.
I'd wager that mid-Michigan doesn't have steep hills, backroads and driveways. Even here in the Virginia Blue Ridge, if I try to go a simple, small Virginia Ski Area, I could easily slide off the steep road if I follow GPS directions. Did I mention the word steep? It only takes one time of sliding off the road to find out.

I agree, take away gravity and all of a sudden snow tires aren't so important. Also, if you take away winter sports you don't need snow tires outside the mountains.

I'll post mine when they get mounted up. Michelin X-ICE or bust...

I've had nothing but a positive experience with the Wildpeaks in both the Trail form and the AT3W's. I'm sure you can get at least 20-30k more from them.
