Still doesn't make sense that they would include a y-cable and specific instructions for an application that doesn't work.

What type of power connection does it use? Most cameras now use USB-C. Could tap into power in the overhead and convert to a USB-C if that's what it uses. I can't see enough of the pictures and info to tell.

Maybe/maybe not. The only real power to draw from up there is the overhead lights, as I found out when trying to install a home link mirror. I was able to do it but it was a pain in the butt. Running a cable to the OBD port or the fuse box is fairly Easy,

Glad I searched and found this thread. I just ordered a Fitcamx for the Sienna b/c of the plug & play setup. I'll look into something else for the Mav - if I have to wire it myself, it opens up the options for cheaper units and/or better camera specs. Fitcamx was all about OEM looks and harness adapters, to me - on the Mav it lost 1/2 of those features.

I want to ensure that both front and rear camera cords will not interfere with side airbags also, when routing the cords. Off to the next camera thread...

I wish I would've known about this dashcam before I purchased the Garmin Mini 2. The OEM look is a winner for me.
