Can you add 4K Tow Package after the fact?

Wish I did it way back when but you all know how screwy it was ordering a 2023. Can you add the 4k tow package on a Maverick Tremor after the fact? It was under 800 to add before build? Would anyone know if you can add and how much it might be now? Thanks in advance.

Switching to a 4k Tow Package is pretty involved. The only way to logically do it is to trade yours in on a Maverick with 4k already installed.

Unless you enjoy removing and replacing entire sections of your drive train.

Throw enough time and $ into it, you will have your 4K package even if you didn't order it initially.

You couldn't even add 4k tow on a Tremor at the factory.

Tremor has a different AWD setup, 4k tow upgrades the base one. They may not have seen enough demand in a 4k Tremor, or they had a technical reason not to offer that config.

For all you get with the 4K option cost I felt like I was getting away with something. My only option other than yours was the all-weather mats and XLT

I got the 4K tow and you can add it aftermarket but it doesn't have the same look and quality. If there is a cover on the drivers knee panel you may be able to add the brake adjust, and I would imagine you may be able to Forscan in the Tow package software but it would take a major chunk of the wiring harness to add all the wires to the back for the 4 and 7 pin trailer connectors. The reciever can be purchased from a number of places, including Ford and you can always get the springs and shocks that are part of the package. Price it out and it is probably $2k to put in all the hardware after market and get the same kind of quality you get from the factory option.

I'm willing to bet adding the additional cooling pieces and associated plumbing/wiring, changing the gear ratio, and adding/wiring the trailer brake controller and trailer harness would be well north of $2000 parts and labor. 100% agree that I would rather have this done at the factory though.

Can you add 4k after the fact? Yes, but no. Just trade the non-4k for one with 4k and be done.
