Were you able to get this resolved? I am going on 2 months now waiting in the FTPS. I fear CEL burnin on my dash panel. I am tired of seeing the amber glow already.
I have an appointment with the dealer for October 13th to have it replaced. The FTPS took about two weeks to come in on backorder but the dealer was booked out so I had to wait another month. Not happy with this dealer but that’s another story…

Likewise, been driving with a CEL on for a long time now, will end up being 3 months by the time it’s fixed.

It’s on the driver’s side about midway through the truck, underneath the underbody shield. It is connected to the charcoal canister on one end. The part number is NZ6Z9D333A if you want to look up a picture.

Thank you. I took the sheilds off and thru them in the trash where they belong. Very poor location for the evap can Ford. Dont go off roading with a Maverick. I heard a bang driving home then the light came on. Mine might have blown a line off.

Yea this is one of those codes that is so vague sometimes.

Hopefully it's the evap system and something simple. NGL, this is one code I hate very much. At least now days we can rule out the gas caps lol.
Yeah, I learned the hard way with the prior car. I had an a loose gas cap. No worry for this one.

Good luck but I don't think it will work. I tried to clean mine with brake clean and it did not work. Apparently what happens is the oil saturates and ruins the sensor. Similar problems on Rangers and Broncos, and cleaning never seems to work. Hoping that you don't have to wait too long for the parts.

Well the saga continues…

After waiting over a month to get into the dealer to have this fixed after their first failed attempt, they call me to state that “the repair didn’t work”. What actually happened was they only installed a new charcoal canister and didn’t install the fuel tank pressure sensor. I spoke to the service manager and he said basically they never ordered the part because it got superseded and it’s currently on intergalactic back order.

I was furious because they told me they had the parts and that’s why I made the appointment. I never would have come in if I knew I had to go back again for the real repair. This dealership has been horrible to work with and this ownership experience has been extremely frustrating. So now I have to continue to wait for the part to actually show up that they claimed they had. I was getting ready to trade this in for a new car for my wife and now I can’t due to this issue. On top of that, I probably won’t be able to pass inspection when it’s due next month because we have emissions requirements here in NY. Unbelievable.

I understand that the dealer can’t control parts shortages but don’t make me an appointment and tell me you have everything and then you don’t actually have it. I have never experienced such incompetence before. If they had diagnosed it right the first time I’d be all set…

Okay rant over, I’m putting this in perspective and realizing it always could be worse, it’s just a truck. But Ford and their dealers need to step it up to take better care of their customers.

I left mine at the dealer instead of making a appointment. They got it in same day. Said its the purge valve on the charcoal can. Parts on back order

I will caution you that the dealer originally diagnosed mine incorrectly as a purge valve and that did not fix the problem. So far they replaced the purge valve and the charcoal canister and now we are waiting on the fuel tank pressure sensor which is ultimately the issue here. And that part is on a national backorder.

I'm curious did the fuel tank pressure sensor fix the issue? I am in the same boat right now. They have replaced both purge valve and the canister and the code came back after they replaced both of those parts. The fuel tank pressure sensor was on back order when they determined that was the next part they would throw at the issue.

I believe the part just arrived at my dealership, so fingers crossed no more CEL after they replace that part.
