What do I care about dealers?
And this "allocations" is such a stupid system if it is a real system at all and not just a word thrown at us by Ford to blame the dealers for not getting our trucks.
What do we care about dealers being rewarded for selling more Edges or punished for not selling enough Explorers or whatever the allocations mean?
Ideally order it online and have it delivered to my driveway. What is the point of these dealers?
Yeah first come first serve. They had enough hybrid batteries to build my XL. They put it in lariats ordered days after I ordered mine.
Yeah I wanted the base model hybrid. That's what this truck is all about. I don't understand getting butt warmers and a gas only engine for $38,000 on this budget truck. Ford offered an attractive, affordable economical, small truck and then we shocked that people wanted it. And then build the gas only luxury versions.
I care about dealers because that's where we can get service, warranty repairs and parts.

I'm sorry that you've had a bad experience with buying a Ford but not everyone has had the same experiences as you.

My experience has been great and I thoroughly injoy my FX4 Maverick.

Service warranty and parts should be what they do but that's all. Why do we have to go to them to order a truck? Ford has said they don't want us ordering online yet. They want us to go to the dealer to be helped. In my experience I haven't been helped. They have been an active hindrance in everything I've tried to do. I've had to explain to them what COVP is. I've had to explain to them when ordering starts. I've had to explain to them everything about this truck that they don't know.
Everything they have told me is either wishful thinking an exaggeration are an outright lie.
And I went to three dealers before the dealer I finally ordered the truck from. They were all so incredibly stupid I couldn't continue. The one dealer says oh with the base model you'll get the smaller info screen. What? What are you talking about? Are you serious. I didn't even try to correct that. I just got up and walked away.

I don't now what to say to you Robert. Looks like Ford is picking on you for some reason.

Perhaps you should not do business with them and chose another company to spend your money with. Life is too short to be so angry about things that you can control with you choices.

While the long wait has sucked, my dealer has been good. Like most things in life, if you seek it, you can make it happen. If you wait for it to land in your lap, sometimes

If only there was something to compare with his base model hybrid truck.
I'm not trying to buy it because I love Ford. I'm trying to buy it in spite of Ford.

What Ford said was that they had "no plan" for private offer/price protection at the beginning of 2023 ordering. They didn't say "ZERO". They said the same thing at the beginning of 2022 ordering - but then they did. So while Ford hasn't had a plan since the Model T, this was not unexpected if not predictable.
So, no, I'm not "happy" about paying more (even with the private offer) for less (no sliding rear window or inverter).
No intention, but set expectations that there would not be one.
From the dealer memo:
Ford Maverick 2024 FORD MAVERICK PRIVATE OFFER DETAILS 1668367347291-png

I also don’t recall this for the 22 model year as the order Banks were open for a pretty long time.

I understand not being happy I waited 354 days for mine. I also was not given price protection and paid an extra $2000 because of the delivery timeframe where there were two price increases.

I don’t expect you to be happy and I empathize with your situation, but I felt like Ford tried to make it clear to set low expectations for anyone not getting scheduled.

I sincerely hope your wait on a 24 is very short.

This isn’t true at all. They said they had no plan on private offers

Also why would I be happy about a company who promised to build me a truck within the year I ordered and then couldn’t. So now I have to pay even more money then before while getting less features that were standard last year?

And for those who are going to say “Ford didn’t promise you anything”. When you place an order for an item with a year production label 2023. That is a promise
The same as I said above, I’m not expecting people to be happy. I’m just assuming there was an understanding that Ford tried to lay an expectation that there would be no private offers. This gave them the opportunity to exceeded expectations by offering any sort of private offer.

pre Covid I would agree that that’s a reasonable expectation, but especially anybody on this forum should realize that there’s a good chance that you don’t receive an order in under a year.

The reality is Ford could’ve not offered anything, reminded dealers that they stated this last year, And not taking the financial for doing it. There are a lot of complaints. I have about four but I don’t feel like the way they handle this was unreasonable.

I sincerely hope you also have a very short wait to take delivery if you’re rolled over.

Thanks Tim. One question that you might answer tonight in the live stream . . . Will the Private Offer get applied after x-plan pricing?

Wow, I am one of those unlucky few…if I understand this I will have to pay thousands more for my BASE hybrid Lariat after the $2500 private offer for options I didn’t want…is that correct?
That is correct

Some could get scheduled this week.
For the first time, I hope it is not my MY23 XLT HPR Hybrid that gets scheduled. I am anxious to apply the 3400.00 offer towards my MY24 XL HPR Hybrid.

I was thinking this was the week Ford was going to start scheduling MY24 Mav's. Do I have my dates mixed up. Did not see anything on Thursday.

@fordvideoguy Tim is it possible to use a farm bureau $500 rebate and these private offers? I have a ‘24 scheduled for late November and am wondering if I should renew my farm bureau membership or not? Appreciate your help!
