Private Cash Offer Updates? Details?

What was the deal on this private cash offer? I met the requirements, I placed my order, I waited until it was built 3/20, and took delivery the day the dealer got it on 4/11.

I only heard of it through this site, my dealer had no idea about it, and wat back when I saw it I think it said something about you having to take delivery by end of March or something like that.

I am not happy that my truck was delayed through no fault of my own, and Ford has been absolutely silent about it.

Any ideas or insight?

If it wasn't an active offer when you ordered the Maverick, an/or is wasn't an active offer when you picked up the Maverick, then you aren't eligible for it.

If it expired at the end of March and you took delivery in April, there is nothing that the dealer can do about it. And Ford hasn't been "extending" offers.

The deal is done now anyway. Rebates can't be "added" after the fact.

A private cash offer versus "not being charged extra due to being forced to upgrade because of a now non-orderable combo of options on original order" are not the same. You should not have been charged the higher cost. Simple as that. If anyone was getting money back, it should be the dealer directly to offset their costs versus what they charged you.

Yikes, I hope that you would have gotten it if you were eligible! It should have automatically shown on "smart vincent" if it were associated with your order.

We didn't have any vehicles that circumstance here, so I don't know the specifics about that offer.

I did find the program # and read through the rules. It says it is for switching from Gas FWD to AWD. Not from Hybrid to Gas AWD.
I don't think the 4K tow pkg was ever an option with the hybrid? Maybe that's where the confusion was (unless I misunderstood and you had ordered a Gas FWD originally)?

Here's the text from the program:

Due to recent engineering and performance evaluations, Ford has removed the FWD Gas (999/448) & 4K Towing Package (53Q) combination from the 22MY Maverick. For eligible Retail Orders, Ford is offering a $2,220 Private Offer to cover the cost difference from FWD to AWD ($2,220 MSRP) should customers choose to upgrade to the 22MY Maverick Gas AWD with the 4K Towing Package.​

Customer eligibility pending dealer submission for existing customer retail orders with 2.0L EcoBoost FWD Gas (999/448) and 4K Trailer Tow Package (53Q).​

So you had to have and submitted order for FWS Gas & 4K Tow Pkg. Ford removed this option, so it was sent to a list of "unbuildable orders" that the dealer had to modify. Those vehicles were the ones that got the extra rebate to cover the cost increase.

Not sure if that helps or not, but that's the relevant info I could find!

I was eligible for this offer and it does not show up automatically on anything when you go to sign the paperwork. IME you need to be informed and ready ahead of time when it comes to this offer otherwise Ford and your dealer will just let it happily slip through the cracks.

There is a HUGE thread on this were other members have successfully gotten, me included, this offer but they were all informed ahead of time and knew what to ask about before going to the dealer to sign the paperwork.
