Had my '22 XLT hybrid in to the dealer for the front axle / CV joint failure over a month ago now, at around 24,000 miles. They diagnosed it as bad axles and ordered from Ford, but they are back-ordered and they don't know when it's coming until it shows up. And they won't provide a loaner vehicle for "back-order delays".

The truck shakes horribly if you apply more than ~30% engine power, especially around 50-60MPH. Makes highway driving pretty difficult.

So, anyone else going as slow as they can while you wait for new axles?

Sorry to hear of your troubles with the Maverick.

Just curious, is yours still completely stock or have you made any changes at all, like a lift, different tires/wheels, etc.?

Yeah, I'm in the same place. No loaner, the issue is getting worse. At the beginning was only when I pushed it hard, but now it always happens in the 50-60mph range, and then again while passing cars at speeds higher than those. I opened a case with Ford but nothing different from what I get from the Dealer. They even told me that keep driving the car was my choice, which I know. The only problem with that is that I can not afford my Maverick and a rental for months. Updates from the dealer are also pretty bad, I have to call them weekly and not always I get an update.

Hopefully they are installing better ones on new builds.

Is the Boot cut, can you see evidence of grease getting slung out? How about a rebuild kit?

Yeah, my dealer recommends not driving it, but offers no alternatives and doesn't know when it can get fixed.

I honestly haven't actually looked at the boots. They were stringing me along for the first 2 weeks saying parts should be in soon so I didn't think too much about it. But I feel like I may be dealing with this for a while so I will take a look.

Are the CV Half-Shafts the same for both the Hybrid & EB models, or are they different? - Sort of a curiosity question more than anything.

I also wonder of the units on Tremor models are different to allow for the higher articulation, and if they are, would they fit, is the question that comes to mind.

I had a looong delay for bolt/fasteners.

Many today are "single use" especially for critical parts.

Loaners are a case by case basis. There is no policy for this.
The more loudly you ask, the more likely you are to get.

If you volunteer "Well, I guess I'm going to have to drive my wife/son/buddy's car for a while, you won't get one.

Telling them this is your ONLY way to get to work and you WILL lose hours/salary/clients/ or your entire job over this... you will most likely get a loaner during the 3/36 time period.

Thanks. I guess that rules out mods - at least in your case.

Good luck.
Most of the people who experience this issue are driving bone stock trucks. It is a legit issue, some sort of defect in the shafts (either material, design, or manufacturing).

We have twin MY22 XL Eco's at work, both front axles out on one at 19k. The other is fine @21k

Seeing lots of Mavs with axle issues... I'm creeping up to the end of my warranty and my axles are still tight with no issues. That's great, but most likely I'll be paying for new ones when they do break, unless if Ford comes out with a recall.
