Hey everyone.

Ordered in October, been lucky enough to find a Hybrid XLT on lot, bought it and was super psyched!

unfortunatly they called the day before delivery to tell me that my Maverick was subject to the fuel tank recall.

it’s been 3 weeks and the dealer is still waiting for the exhaust tail pipe and muffler clamp to proceed to the inspection.

on Monday they said I was 847th in line waiting for the clamp.
Anyone else had that?

I get all the delays and everything, fell fortunate enough to have my Maverick waiting for me, just can’t wait to playwith my toy haha!

How did you find out what number you were in line? I have been waiting since 11/1 and no one has gave me any number of the line.

well, my dealer told me. Don’t know if he got the number from the recall system or ordering system tho.
It was for the muffler clamp, not the tank as inspection hasn’t been done yet. :(

Understand and thanks for the information. I called my dealer today to see if they could find a Line Number for me, but haven't had a return call. Thanks again and good luck.

So Ford has you waiting for a clamp BEFORE they inspect your tank? Then if tank is bad the wait starts again? Remember Ford=Found on the road dead. They need to get their back into the sunshine. I feel for you.

Yeah, I find it really tedious.

Having owned a Harley, it can’t be as bad tho, but thanks for the laugh lol

Ford = fix or repair daily

Do they really need the OEM exhaust clamp though? Seems like a generic $10 part from Autozone would be just as good.
yeah they need to change it for the recall, else Ford won’t pay the labor allowances. Even told dealer I would pay the labor if it could let me have the damn thing but seems like things don’t work that way :/

Looks more like red tape to me than anything else.

Update: Well, clamp finally came in on Thursday and I could finally take delivery on Friday.
They’ve inspected the tank and it was OK. 😮💨

Took a total of 7 weeks for a mere clamp. Finally enjoying my Mav!

No, as it wasn’t delivered before recall.

Fix Or Repair Daily and Chevy Owners at night could hear the gentle sound of Fords rusting in the parking lot.

Took mine in but didn't leave it. Ford doesn't want to pay the rental rates only $40 a day is what Ford will cover. Was told 3 weeks to get a rental + order parts. When they get their crap together that's when i will have it looked at. No check engine light and no fumes since i got it end of November. Not my responsibility to cover difference and be reimbursed.
