2023 Alto Blue extra cost

I originally ordered a 2023 Hybrid Maverick on 20 Sep 2022. The vehicle has been built and now in transit. I will buy this vehicle assuming dealer keeps our agreed deal parameters.

Keep in mind that 16-21 Sep 2022, 2023 Maverick order banks and information was flying fast and furious.

My original preview order has Alto Blue at a cost of $0.

The 2023 Order Guide clearly shows Alto Blue as an extra cost. (Page 15)

When I added remote start, the revised preview order reflects Alto Blue as extra cost, in agreement with the order guide.

The window sticker I have has it as extra cost.

I believe the original preview order is in error, and I plan to just absorb this cost without comment; or will simply say if dealer is charged for it, I will pay for it.

Anyone have experience with this?

^^^^^^^ Agreed. I got an up-dated preview sheet about a week later, and the $495 cost for the Alto Blue was now shown. All of the information provided the day the '23 order banks opened showed the $495 up-charge, so it was no surprise (at least to me.).

It was always going to be an added cost, trust you were aware of this. The pricing was just left out of the order system at launch, fixed soon after. Fighting it likely isn't going to go anywhere unless you have some pull with the dealer to eat the cost. Probably best to just accept it.

Wonder if the extra charge will pay for thicker paint. Not the toilet paper thin stuff on most trucks.

Just chatting now; I fully intended to buy the vehicle without making any issue of the extra cost color. I believe the dealer will be charged for it on their invoice.

I was not aware of until I caught it on adding the remote start to my order. Got past me and my sales rep. It was then that I dug into the color cost on the order guide.

Yes, the dealer will certainly be charged for alto blue.

I paid the extra price for my Alto blue truck. It’s not available for 2024. I ordered a 2024 in Atlas blue. I sure wish they would bring out red one something like the race red. The “you can have any color that though want as long as it is grey or silver” is getting old.

I believe I paid $500 extra. Why, i have no idea...just another way to cheat the customer.

I'd say it would at least be worth asking, "hey, my original order said no charge, what can you do?"

My original Order was the Same Alto at n/c , but after making a change, it came in at +495.

Human error, no doubt. It happens. You are doing the right thing for correctly paying for it. It's a gorgeous color, by the way.

I was told that there would be a price protection check coming from Ford for the difference in price of the 23XLT from the time it was ordered, I can't say if this is true as I didn't take delivery since the dealer wouldn't honor the original deal I had in place
