XL/STX Hybrid project.

My 2023 Maverick is scheduled to be built next month. I decided long ago to make it into an "STX". I previously had a F150 STX which I lowered a bit, and put 2015 20" Lariat sport wheels on. Added the side stripes too, then accented with red pinstripes to match the red on the STX decals.

So my 2023 order is for Atlas blue,

Here is the actual truck. I've opted for some 18" black and machined aluminum bronco sport wheels shown below:

I will upgrade the 225/60/18 tires to 265/60/18's next year. Ride height will most likely stay stock on this. I settled on orange being the contrasting color, so black and orange STX decals, and tailgate letters. I haven't decided on the Grille yet, but will probably go with some side stripes too. Not over the top, just basically something Ford would do.

Above is the only pic I could find close to Atlas blue, this is the lighter Velocity blue though.

As far as I know, the truck is off the train sitting in a railyard 60 miles away. I don't have it yet.

Picked up the truck today. First impressions are really good. Most of the things people complain about, don't seem to be issues. Very impressed so far.

Got the STX decals and tailgate letters on. Wheels will wait until after my road trip. Here's some sunny pics to start.

Grover from sesame Street took up my dash cubby. The Maverick looks and acts like a Grover. So Grover is the trucks new name.

Added the Weathertech bump step, for a bit of parking and low speed protection, also easier to get in the bed with my bad knee.

Finally got the wheels changed. IMHO, these are the wheels that would be on an STX package if Ford offered it from the factory.

Also added the sill protectors. Well worth the $16.

And Garmin GPS above the factory screen. Use Waze on the factory, and the GPS on trips each gives unique info.
